Alright, I finished G20. This was quite possibly the best storyline in Mabinogi so far. Every single character, friend and foe alike, got really fleshed out and given a unique personality. Almost everything remained consistent and logical, making several references to older content. Good variety of activities kept me entertained, although there might have been too much trash mob fighting and I still shudder thinking about that first RP. Untargetable lightning sprites were really annoying too. But I really, really liked the final boss fight - a simple pattern of well telegraphed and hard hitting attacks is something we should be seeing more often in this game.
The story was surprisingly mature and dark. Pihne's tragic past (and present) was clearly the highlight here, however it lost its impact ever so slightly when we could resolve her problems so quickly - I'd love too see that part moved onto the next generation to build up some suspense.
Among the not so good things, the ending felt a bit rushed.
The "by the way, I sealed them inside which was my plan from the beginning" came out of nowhere. At least I hope that next gen will pick that back up, unlike this one where Prophets' successful siege of Rath castle ended up with... well, nothing.
I could complain about the introduction of a centuries old cult of a goddess who somehow never was even mentioned before, but at the end of the day it's a relatively minor issue.

Stuck at the "Flowing through time 2"
i do an attack: game freeze
i do the windmill: game freeze
i do shield of justice: game freeze
mobs spawn: game freeze
i do a regular attack: either i land the attack instantly or i wait for the mob to hit me first
i attack a mob that has smash loaded: i am polite and wait for the mob to hit me first
i use final hit: i now wait for all the mobs to attack me before i can attack them
I am pissed off for failing so much: that damn cutscene
been doing this for days, max count 70.
Yea--no.
So... the dev team is filled with a bunch of amateur programmers?

Seems to me that title is significantly better than any of the other Generation questline titles.

Seems like your connection/computer just sucks.

I was surprised as well, the gen was nice and long and lots of things happened and each character felt like a character. There were some typos and I was lost a few times because I forgot about turning quest markers back on (I kept searching around the center of Blago instead of the eastern tunnel at one point for example) but overall this was much more enjoyable than G19.
I also liked how they introduced new mechanics into missions, new items to use and new sorts of goals... and they worked for once. I didn't spend half of the total playtime in a few select missions fiddling around with touchy collision and delayed attacks and crap like in some of those Saga II missions. Like that goddamned gun speedrun one.
The likeability for each character was neat, seemed like a more fleshed out G15 or whatever but the choices were less obvious.
At one point I thought Pihne was transforming into Bril, and thus an unwitting spy. It was when she was vanishing before Bril showed up, and her thought text was up to "it should have been me" which implied jealousy as an internal drive. As for how it caused her to grow horns and wings, well, this is Mabi.
The ending did feel really rushed and out of nowhere though.
"Oh no they won!"
"Haha nah just kidding it totally looks like they won in every single way but they actually lost and we're just going to move on and forget about it and hope none of them were carrying a pickaxe."
I hope it sets up for a strong open to G21 though. Main and failed goal of G20 was to keep them away from the super-corpse.
The moment they bust out should be a boss battle.

We'll probably start G21 off on a rush to find Souls we can link with to uncover more of the Knights' lost history before the Prophets can find a way to reopen the Gate.
Unless that whole "link with a whole bunch of different souls" is just a flowery way of egging us on to train the skill we just learned.
So, for squires I'm thinking Logan, Elsie, and Kanna for the eventual wand, blade, and toothpick. I'd go for an all-girl team, but the crossbow looks (please confirm) to be a straight downgrade form CRC with no unique piercing upgrade. This also makes it easy since 2/3 of my conversations would be freebies and I only have to track Elsie, not too hard to find the pattern for just one.
On the thought of eventual weapons, do we know if casting speed upgrades on the wand work for intermediate as well? Would that be the optimal path to take the 7% speed over 5 extra MA? What about enchants for the toothpick? Are there even any 67s floating around anymore? Definitely better to go 67 if at all possible than being forced to go Cartel.

I have made up to guarding the camp at the hot springs while forcing the game to be at 500mb of memory with no isues aside random d/c after using the book to warp while when i tried on that rp mission i had my internet and computer at best so i disagree.
Currently stuck at guarding the camp, Caswyn sends corpses to the zone before i can ever do anything, having a pet summoned does not help either because they do the same (i don't have barrier spikes because i am still under level 100)
At this point i am fairly sure i hate G20 quest(shadow mission)wise

Starting G19 requires 800 total now. And G20 comes after that. So yeah... you might be slightly underleveled.

I must admit, some shadow missions looked like small eternities when related to boss fights (last boss fight took me like 20 guardian stones and nao stones to pull it off), but i assumed it would be a walk in the park like G19 before being adjusted since all of those were but just shadow missions and they would have to adjust to my current level.
By the way if anyone gets stuck at guarding the camp, use ninja skills.
