So how did the cultists always beat them before getting the fragments? They didn't tell us directly but I think they were hinting that they knew due to Pihne's corruption? But then how did they beat them to the fourth shard since they mentioned that it seems like the shard was already taken a long time ago.
I really don't wanna burst everyone's bubble about it being Pihne's Condition but....
The Alban Knights don't even know where the final shard is.... Or do they?
Remember the Milletian found the locations, the others seemingly never were aware of the Locations so your useage of the Pendant was what mattered.
You lead them to the Arthuan Altar in Physis..... You lead them to the Heruin Altar at Port Ceann..... you lead them to the Eiler Altar.......
The ONLY Altar you DIDN'T lead them to because the General interrupted your spying was the ELVED Altar also it's the third that was gone longer ago, we NEVER got to know the fourth Location.
Now i have two options i can believe in.
1. The Black Wizard IS either the Elved Captain from long ago or the General himself and what is beyond Avalon Gate is something way different. That would explain how they knew where the shard is,
2. There's a 5th Prophet that plays a game with you all along and keeps somehow regaining your trust even if you start to distrust him.... Someone who ALWAYS seems to lure you into a trap and then either rescue you or regain your trust afterwards, someone who ALWAYS disappears at times....
The current Elved Captain TALVISH.
Secondly did anyone else find the ending a bit too convenient? He made some modifications and now they're trapped there like.. really? They all get their ass whooped but in the end it's almost like: "Haha you fell for my trap card!".
It's too convenient yes..... but what if That was their Plan all along? Maybe they NEED the Alban Knights to be able to follow them. The Shards open the Door but what if getting to whatever the Prophets are after requires Divine Power?
Also if my assumption comes out True and Talvish is playing you he could may as well be lying. It's surprisingly ALWAYS Talvish who is able to stop the Prophets and he's also the only one you start to distrust.
My Vibe is that this whole "Talvish rescues you and helps you so much" was to convince Caswyn that he's loyal to the Alban Knights. Caswyn distrusted Talvish and let's face it. Caswyn may be lazy and bad at communicating with others....
But he's way smarter than Avelin, Altam and Pihne.
Lastly what was the gate actually sealing to begin with? I think they probably mentioned this in the beginning but I'm having issues remembering. Was the whole purpose to seal the captain's body? If that's the case were all the preparations just to give the captain a proper funeral? It just seems sort of odd... I think I must've missed an important detail somewhere.
According to what they told us, the First Alban Knight Leader's Body, the only one to have his powers directly from Atom Cimeni. But who knows? knowing that they existed for so long, maybe beyond Avalon Gate is another World.... and what Ruairi and Tarlach did in Saga 2 only ripped the Gateway and didn't fully open one.
What if beyond Avalon Gate is actually the Sealed Ladeca?

I've yet to do G20 but did they ever make a mention of Tory Ravine, or at least a washed up non-human body or whatever that caused a corruption there that seemingly flowed to Beach of Scathach? IIRC this was something mentioned by the Belvast citizens and maybe during G15?
wasn't the Scathach Beach Corruption thanks to Morrighan playing with the Soul Stream?
It borked Tir Na Nog fully and then started to also show it's effect in the 'New' Erinn.
