Weapon Upgrades Question

I tried to use the anvil with the upgrade stones but for some reason it says that I cannot use them because a special upgrade has been performed. I thought that you need to have all 5 and the Gem upgrades to use the stones, is it the reforge I have on the weapon making it not able to be upgraded using the anvil, what are the steps to using them?

You have all 5 upgrades and gem upgrade? What sword are you trying to special upgrade? I'm assuming you do have the red/blue upgrade stones too.

Yes, I have all 5 upgrades, a gem upgrade, and a STR 5 Reforge on a Dragon Blade. When I try to put the weapon in the upgrade slot of the upgrade anvil, it says something about must not have a special upgrade?

Another thing is you can't switch between Red and Blue type, even if you fail upgrading level one and it goes back to zero only stones of the same colour will work from that point onward.

Ah, there's the problem. Dragon Blade cannot be special upgraded. Only certain weapons can. Here is a list: http://wiki.mabinogiworld.com/view/Special_Upgrade
