My aunt an her family decided to move to the middle of nowhere because "yay nature" or some shit. Anyway, what they forgot to consider is that they need internet for both work and entertainment, and finding decent internet out in the country is like trying to find a taco at the bottom of the ocean. So I have been tasked with trying to find them decent internet.
I have been googling for a while now but haven't come up with many options, so I was hoping maybe someone here would have a suggestion. They watch a lot of netflix so anything with a really low data cap is out of the question.

Oh dear, well unfournately ISP options in the middle of nowhere you should know are extremely limited. Lack of infastructure and cabling makes that really difficult. I mean maybe if you are willing to go to Verizon/AT&T you could hot spot your phone and use that as your internet connection going off of your data plan.
That would be your best option there if you get decent enough phone service.
That's what I usually do in a pinch anyways is use my phone service as internet.

Yeah, it's good as an emergency measure but not really as a full-time internet solution. The problem with it is that Verizon is ridiculously greedy, so to get any decent amount of data would be $300+ a month. Even a grandfathered unlimited plan won't work because Verizon recently decided they still aren't ripping people off enough, so anyone with an unlimited data plan that uses over 100 GB will have their service cut.

That's the best I can offer you at this point really without knowing what ISPs are servicing your area. Most likely you only have one or two ISP options to choose from though.
Even living in the city I don't have many options. I got Frontier or Time Warner which is now Spectrum as options and only acceptable one there is Time Warner. There is a 3rd fiber option but that's limited to very particular neighborhoods that aren't servicing mine :/

I think I did see that Frontier is available here. Is it really as awful as the reviews I've seen say it is? Lol.

From my experience with my parents internet, Yes it does suck. It's why I would never choose them over someone like Time Warner.

Not much you can do for a reasonable amount of money if there's no cable infrastructure. If there's phone lines you -might- have some DSL going there that would have been considered high speed in 2001 - 2005 (and surprisingly many people still use today). Have any neighbors there you can ask for suggestions? I figure anyone living there probably has the most reasonable internet available.

Should I trust review sites or consumer reviews? For example, every website I find listing "best satellite providers for 2016" lists Hughesnet as the #1 best in the country. But every consumer review site like Consumer Affairs has them listed at 1/5 stars.

Customer reviews hands down. Review sites for the most part are just ways to get traffic to particular companies. That's what porn review sites do anyways rate sites high to push traffic to them and get paid for leads to them. It's not like any other marketing site is any different.

True, but I've always noticed that people never review things unless they don't like them. Very few people bother to review something they are happy with. So when it comes to customer reviews I always wonder "Ok, 1,000 people say this sucks.. But does that mean no one likes it at all? Or are there 5,000 people that love it who are just too lazy to review it?" Lol.
