Q.E.D. ~Shomei Shuryo~ (normally referred to simply as Q.E.D.) is a mystery manga by Motohiro Katou in the same style as Detective Conan and Kindaichi Case Files. Unlike those two, however, the main character Sou Touma does not stumble onto murders with absurd regularity. Instead, he encounters a variety of crimes ranging from murder to fraud. Also unlike his contemporaries (who either work alone or whose partners provide minimal assistance), he often works in tandem with his friend and potential love interest Kana, with him supplying the brain while she acts as brawn.
Genre: Detective Fiction
The premise of Q.E.D. is pretty generic: The socially challenged MIT Graduate Teenage Extraordinaire goes to a high school to have a normal life. Meets his soon-to-be partner crime solver Mizuhara Kana. They solve murders along with other stuff.
However, it's much better than it sounds. Has nicely written cases that all fulfill the Ten Commandments of fair play for whodunnits, along with methods of crime that aren't simply absurd a la Detective Conan while keeping the need of random trivia or university-level knowledge.
Topic of it due to the lack of this amazing series that's finally being scanlated after all these years.
And the fact that my brain refuses to function, and I can't solve chapter 16's mystery as of this post.
Scanlated up to 16 chapters, with each chapter usually comprising of 3 parts and pages ranging in 25~40. You can read it at QED Manga - Read QED Online
