These are your best spirit weapon options. Stats are listed at all/40
Leather Long Bow
Damage: 69-112
Average Damage: 103
Critical: 44%
Speed: Slow
ADACT: 147
Crossbow
Damage: 57-100
Average Damage: 91
Critical: 54%
Speed: Normal
ADACT: 145
Ring Bow
Damage: 72-129
Average Damage: 117
Critical: 34%
Speed: Normal
ADACT: 151
Wing Bow
Damage: 55-109
Average Damage: 98
Critical: 50%
Speed: Fast
ADACT: 148
Keep in mind,
Range is directly proportional to aim speed. Neither has disadvantages.
Speed is indirectly proportional to stun duration. Increased speed carries improved DPS. Stun time applies to melee skills (windmill, leap attack) as well.
The Crossbow improves Human mobility while bolts disable the campfire bonus.

Honestly, the lack of campfire bonus is the only reason I dislike crossbow egos. They have great stats, although slightly lacking damage.

I guess I could use burning as suffix for helm then. Will effectivly be +5 crit. same as my calculations.
Also start using this as your enchant database rather than wiki. Its only missing a few enchants and much much better for search.

I thought you can't do Down Attack with Ranged weapons?
Or is that an oversight someone told me?

What do you think happens when you activate Down Attack with a ranged weapon equipped? Hint: It's the same thing that happens when you load Arrow Revolver with a sword equipped.
If you're wielding a melee weapon, you can switch to it and activate down attack before the opponent can recover from Magnum Shot or Crash Shot.
Edit: Something like this would allow you to perform the following combo.
Crash Shot
*switch*
Down Attack > Blaze > Charge
*switch*
Arrow Revolver > Crash Shot

Wooden Needle/Wild Boar wpc for gloves. The -16 dex more or less translates to -6 damage, but you're getting +12 for a net gain of +6 damage while getting a +6% crit boost to boot. Wild Boar is +3 max damage (I'm assuming you'll re-enchant this cheap enchant til you get the max result of course). Replace wild boar with theif if need more crit. (+6% crit, +9 damage or +8% crit, +6 damage later calculations assume the former)
Corundum/Delusional Hat. (+16 damage -1% crit)
Corundum/Raven boots. (+14 damage -1% crit)
Habit/White Horse clothing with 2 Corundum/Lily accessories. (+31 damage -2% crit with no title)
200 base will +20% crit
20 base Luck +4% crit
rk1 range +25 damage
300 base Dex +120 damage
Glorious/spike +8% crit, +23 damage
68% crit, 0-11 damage 105-wingbow
102% crit , 249 max damage with no title.
33% crit, 10-42 damage 153-longbow
67% crit, 280 max damage with no title.
1% crit, 10-53 damage 230-ring bow
37% crit, 292 max damage with no title.
Hungry +12 damage
Luxurious +12% crit
Ambidextrous title: +8 damage +4% crit (-50sp)
Seduced a succubus: +8 damage +4% crit +10mp (-5 def and prot)
Connected Rano and Connous +8% crit (no drawbacks)
Master of Thunder +8 damage, +40MP (no meaningful drawbacks)
Master of Blacksmithing +12 damage, +3% crit (-30mp)
Master of Shock +4% damage (no drawbacks)
Stiff/Wild Boar tailcap is -13 damage, +11% crit, musician/Raven boots is -6 damage +8% crit along with fearless/lily accessories (-6 damage, +5% crit each) and titles can shift you into the crit you need situationally without taking up a ton of space. Wing Bow is the best currently for landing needed crits on anything and pumping out fast damage or serving as a long range bow for fast magnum aiming. Ring Bow seems like it will be good for Crash Shot, assuming that's remotely spammable.
Egos are egos.
Edit: Side note, this setup is also very win for melee. Who says the two are different builds? Replace Lily accessories with Wild Boar for a small loss of 6 damage in echange for more damage when your broadswords are equipped. +20 STR of habit will also be nice, and titles can help shift to more melee focus. Another set of accessories (taurus, or other +2% protection enchant) and switching from raven boots to something else can shift you into a more tank-oriented build at minimal space cost.

The way you wrote it before, it sounded as if you can perform Down Attack with a ranged weapon instead of manually/automatically switching to a weapon capable of Down Attack.
A simple addition of "switching" would have suffice to make your statements clearer.

I think Lizard Palm Tree would be two really good enchants to put on a bow. I don't think there are any other better enchants than Palm Tree that give +damage on a bow. The only problem is that Palm Tree is ridiculously hard to get and hard to enchant (well, as hard as spike to enchant, but it's a ton harder to actually get the enchant).

Palm tree (with rk1 ranged assumed) is +12 max, +6 min, -10hp/sp and +12% repair costs. Spike (with the appropriate potion crafting/herbalism ranks) is +14 max, +3 min, +10% repair costs (with the side effect of adding 4 more damage to your bowmills than palm tree). Spike and Palm tree are the same rank, so equall in difficulty to enchant.
Both are trumped by Horn (which is the same rank also) which gives +17/18 max (stupid 4 dex), +5 min, x2 repair costs and makes bow untradable. I used spike mostly for it's relative ease in acquiring compared to other enchants, and the repair cost increase is pretty manageable on an expensive bow like a Wing Bow.
Glorious and Snowdrop are better enchants than Lizard. I chose Glorious because it gives a ton of bang for your buck, and I think a strategy that doesn't sacrifice so much damage to go pure crit is better.

Oh, I forgot to factor in Spike's +10 dex as well. And horn sounds nice, but having an untradable bow...bawww, no more untradables please. >_< They really need to make more tradables in this game.
Glorious and Snowfall seem nice as well, but I like lizard because of the rank B haha. Making abysmal pots all the time has shown me just how many fails there are to anything rank 9+. But hm, a glorious spike bow does sound pretty hax.

In terms of damage, LLB > Wing Bow > Crossbow
In terms of critical, Crossbow > Wing Bow > LLB.
In terms of range, Wing Bow > LLB > Crossbow
Wing Bow is probably the best medium.

I added one you were missing. ^^~
imo, Wing Bow is the best in general. It has great stats all around, and excels in range. Pitfalls include having to seriously raise
all stats to make damage effective, Ring Bow has this as well, and the lack of enough Wing Bows being around to make traditional ego repairs viable.
Ring Bow is the best for Crash Shot. It's only lacking stat is really critical(up to 35% at level 40, though) and CS ignores protection.
Crossbow is great for general dungeon use and AR spam.
LLB is good for a balance between the Ring and Wing bows, at the cost of speed. The advantage is it's much easier to raise the damage.
