PvP to me is a perfect balance.
Where a level 1 can destroy a level 99 with ease by just thinking things through.
Mabinogi is not like this at all, it really shouldn't even have PvP.
How about your views on PvP, how should it be?

A doughnut with no filling. /sarcasm
Let me see...
I'm currently playing D2, PvP.... to me, is being able to kill every class, with only 1 class, or at the least, majority. Lvls in D2 matter to, at least to me, I cap my duelers. Killing lv80's at Lv40~50 is rewarding.

I actually think mabinogi is better in respect to "lvl 1 can destroy lvl 99" stuff. Honestly if u have icebolt + good internet connection u can camp the crap out of a "pro". Other games that are "point and click u wait for ur charc to auto attack the monster for a while" types, theres no friggin way ur gonna beat someone 20 lvls higher than you. In mabi 20 level difference is almost nothing, unless you're level 1 i guess...
all in all pvp does create QQ, name calling, drama, and rage quit (did i miss something?) but I just do it cuz its fun lol. Its so interesting watching ppl QQ and name call and do all sorts of stuff to prove that they can "own" someone in pvp.
unless your talking about dueling then thats another whole topic..

i have to agree i just see it as a useless waste of time and an aspect of games that just makes more drama than needed.

It's fun when you duel a friend or play around with game skills but people get annoying.
PVP is too broken, you win with AR+Connection.
I can't even smash a person point blank before he AR's me (right after alby arena invincibility wears off) even when I'm spam clicking...

PvP in most games comes down to who has the better connection if two people similar skills whether it is PvP in a shooter, fighter, RPG, or some real time strategy game.

I think PvP in Mabinogi should be somewhat like DFO's PvP is.

For the most part, only applies to games with crappy PvP systems.
If PvP is balanced, there's nothing to QQ about... aside from that occasional freak that everybody laughs at, calls a noob, then ignores.
Balanced, meaning that there are no trump cards, the battle lasts at least 30 seconds (at full damage), and levels/experience have significance to the outcome (but are not sole determinants).

Well in Mabi, it really is determined on your connection speed, skill rank and also tactics.
If you lag, then you are screwed anyways. :|
Human PvP makes rank 1 AR a necessity.

I dislike PvP. Just because of how many people focus on winning and just showing off and showing attitude which I really dislike. It's a breeding ground for all those people who have massive advantage in the game to the point where they are god-like (which usually is cheating, buying in-game gold and having a lot of cash to spend on game incentives, and having the best connection and computer specs), which makes me want to avoid it even more.
Also hear things like speeding up game to cheat in pvp, which makes me feel people don't focus on having fun. They focus on the need to win. Which is what I don't agree with.
I do pvp on condition on team pvp, when it comes to testing out new skills, or just fooling around with it (wind blasting someone else and getting wind-blasted around is fun).

This and this, agreed.
Mabinogi needs Starcraft quality of gameplay balance though.
