Well I will be switching out to a muramasa ego at some point in time now that I have by shear luck obtained one for an unmentionable cheap price about a month ago.
Howevere muramasa egos are only worthwhile to those with high dex and seeing as how i plan to start pure melee then branch to either range or magic after that basis is down my dex is of course very low at the present time.
What I've been debating are the pros/cons of egoing a muramasa now rather than waiting until my range / life skills are maxed up enough for me to have 200-250 dex.
On one hand if I start feeding and raising the ego now it will be near if not max by the time i get around to actually using it in major combat as my primary weapon.
On the other hand the damage ratio will be lower for some time due to low blanace making the weapon not near as useful to me for the time being.
Not to mention that I can very fast and easily prof/upgrade a couple of gladii to use for the time being until I get my max mura.
Theres several other things to consider of course but what are your thoughts? Should I wait until i have "earned" the muramasa or start training it asap so it's storng by the time I can truly use it's power?
I currently have a mediocre gladius ego, only 19 strength, that I made to assist me through shadow missions for easy leveling at low level. My total on this new main is still very low and so far my only notable skill is R4 (almost R3 after i get difficult back DX) windmill.
Thanks for any input guys.

You might have heard this question a lot already but-
Are you okay with repairing your ego with only NX potions from now on?
Your gladius ego isn't spectacular, you might as well break it if you plan on switching egos.
It takes a long time to get your ego strong.
The time your gladius lies in your inventory is potential time for feeding.
But really the money spent on your ego could be better used.
There's plenty of powerful enchants that will look cheap compared to your ego money sink.

If you're serious about getting your muramasa up, and understand the repair concerns... break it now and work on it. Get those gladii to tide you over for good melee until then. The new ego is going to be a huge money sink for a long time, may as well get started now. You'll probably still be working on it by the time you get around to raising your dex high anyway. And even if you don't... it will still be a powerful weapon with high max... to produce steller crits. There is nothing stopping you from using a weapon without "enough dex" and those weapons will still perform pretty well.

Muramasa Lv40 (all/40)
Damage: 46-125 (54-149)
Average Damage: 109 (130)
Critical: 43%
Durability: 33
Gladius Lv40 (all/40)
Damage: 72-125 (87-145)
Average Damage: 114 (133)
Critical: 44%
Durability: 42
The Gladius is better in every single way. Plus it's much cheaper to repair. The Gladius is the best spirit one-handed sword.

I'm already and have been repairing with NX for a long time now as I don't have the time to be proffing a lot of ego repairs. As odd as it sounds i don't dual wield all that often either so proffing along side ego takes very long for me.
I'm thinking I may just switch out now as it will take me about a day to get re-caught up to my glad as thats how long it took me to get to where my glad is.

Muramasa gets a lot of max from raising the other stats, while a gladius ego with just STR raised is pretty awesome by itself. If you're fine with spending probably a lot more to max out your Mura, go for it. I'd stick with the gladius though, because NX repairs are a pure waste, when you could probably save up all your extra NX for RBs, which would be good considering that you have a newer character.

He already NX repairs his gladius though.
Personally, it don't feel like it matters.
The Mura generally has a higher cool factor, so if you want that then go for it.
If not, then you're just wasting time and money killing that gladius.

A)Is the muramasa Blue? If not see Question B.
B)Is the Gladius Blue? If not see Option C.
C) Find a Blue sword.

Switch to Muramasa ego only if you either:
1) Really hate the gladius ego look
2) Really like how Muramasa looks
Gladius ego is more or less similar to Muramasa ego, but much higher min.

Mura is better at all 50 but loses to glad at all 40 (many foreign players who use WM just go with Bastard Ego since its cheap to repair and has max like Mura). So depends on your dedication and ability to repair with nx. But if ALL things are considered "end game" mura is strongest Duelwielding Ego for humans.
If your a shield person (and human) Ego mace actually has more damage but low crit. I am not sure if warhammer egos have high crit or higher damage when egoed.

If you're going to ego it at all, just do it now and start feeding. Even if you can't make good use of it currently, there's no use in stalling it. You'll be able to use it eventually, and when that time comes you'll want it to be decent damage amirite? :v
