WM Pets worth it?

  I'm looking into getting a Defensive WM pet, preferably a Black Wolf or a Hamster. The Persian scares me.
  
  My main reason is that it can be difficult charging a Firebolt when I've got double aggro going on with really strong or explodey monsters, even with 29% (soon to be 35%) speedcast. Or when I'm charging Fireball and people think I can save them mid-charge from whatever is about to kill them. Like this time I was on the final charge of Fireball for Karu norm boss and someone runs over with a Stone horse aggro'd and he stops right beside me and the horse WM's both me and him and oh, there's goes my Fireball and mp and time.
  
  I'd imagine having a pet near me with charged WM ready to go when something comes close would be perfect for such situations. It isn't a real big issue but when things like this does happen, it's infuriating.
  
  Bag space isn't an issue, summing time isn't really an issue, I have exactly 11.6k NX to blow and that's all I'll have until dragons come out. I'm moreso leaning towards the Hamster because I can keep it morphed all the time instead of just at night time.
  
  tl;dr: Love/hate your WM pet? Was it worth the cost and time spent training it?
  
  Also, no speak of dragon WM in here. I honestly don't want some Giant-resized creature with huge wings taking up half of my screen or anyone else's and covering up my character so I can't see what I'm doing. Giant mounts are huge, my griffin is bad enough.

  You can just use a normal pet to draw aggro, then run to another monster and draw it's aggro, and they just rally them all in a corner away from you while you charge stuffs owo; (pet)WM isn't really needed at all imo :p

  It's capped at rA, which outright fails. If the pet's size is that significant to you, rebirth a Dragon into a Black Wolf in order to transfer the skill rank. Alternatively, wait until G13E when they add the new training kits.
  
  I've got a black wolf. I use it less than my Borzoi. Trust me, Windmill is useless compared to a Thoroughbred missile.
  
  That being said, they make versatile combat pets. I haven't regretted mine.

  Oh, I definitely use my combat pets. Whenever I charge Fireball, I get one of my combat pets out and load smash just in case I draw aggro. I should have mentioned multi aggro and not double, like Hch Castle Dungeons (which I do a lot) and Alby Int or heck, we even run Peaca sometimes.

  Alright, if their WM is useless then I'll probably scratch it. I checked the levels needed to max their combat skills too and I'd have to get Hamster to lvl60 and Black Wolf to lvl55. That just seems like too much grinding to me. My Griffin is already almost capped at lvl35, I just need 5 more levels for Crit. I have decent combat pets already: an almost capped Griffin, a capped Malamute, and an Eagleowl that needs more training for bolt spamming/countering.
