Laptop Has No Wireless

My mom's laptop(three to four years old, HP DV2000, Vista) cannot connect to any networks. When I turn the switch on, it says wireless is disabled. Same thing happens when I turn it off. I thought something was blocking it, so I ran it in safe mode with networking, but it was still disabled. Anyone know how to fix this?

you need to switch on in both windows (or your wifi software) and outside your computer. also make sure you have the right wireless drivers installed.

This happened to my brother's laptop once, we were getting rid of unnecessary files on his HP Laptop and we were running "Wise Registry Cleaner" (Program) and thats what ruined ours.
It had a list of "Okay" to remove entries and "Not-So-Safe" To remove entries, we went ahead and deleted all the "Not-so-safe" and ended up with our wireless not working. We had to use System restore to get our laptop working again.

Did you use any Cleaning programs any time earlier? Try system restore :x

happened to my laptop...i tried reinstailling software and so many diffferent things, but in the end i had to install windows 7 on it for it to start working xD

Just checked the drivers. They're the right ones.

Nope, no cleaning programs were ran.

HP laptops had issues with wireless within the last 4 years. For example, My DV6000 Series from 2007 has major wireless issues & the card ended up dying awhile back even though it was sent in for recall. Whats the model if possible?

Make sure your router is actually sending the signal, and if it's passworded, you have it entered. There are about 4-5 ways to connect to a wifi, each doing something different. Google should help ^^;
