My CPU usage shoots up to 80-90% when I'm opening Mabinogi now. The game also has a fair amount of lag that does not appear in the past.
It used to only consume 70-80% at max, even with IE on. What's wrong with my PC now :gloom:
Can mods cause this?
I'm on a dual-core PC and I know the issues with Mabi not being able to utilise both but...

Check for any background processes? Tone down the gfx a bit? Mods might cause some CPU usage since they have to read from your data folder and the pack files.

Meh, when i play Mabi it is like 90% and with my Opera browser on it is around 95% and MSN 97%. I only lag in big city's like Tara.

Possibly is the dual-core. Did you update your drivers? Usually some driver updates will make Mabinogi use your hardware differently, and sometimes, it's for worse.
I would suggest checking background processes first (by Task Manager "Process" tab), and closing unnecessary, for-sure ones. IOBit's Game Booster might help if you never tried it. Also, try cleaning up your registry and optimizing your hard drive; bad versions of both can cause severe slowdowns on processes and loading times (before and during in-game).

You tried dusting out your PC?
How much lag exactly?
Whats your FPS?

Hardware degrades over time if not kept in a healthy environment. Is this a laptop or desktop? If it's a desktop, open up the case and clean it with compressed air, it will help a great deal.
