Gosh I hate that guy.
I needed to fight him for some reason or the other.
So I decide to solo him since I have horrible luck with games like this. (ya'know like DFO's party system)
Just lags really bad with other people.
Everyone is all teleporty and monsters just kinda scoot about.
Not like that when I solo. :[
ANYways.
I get to the boss.
And my God.
Took me FOREVER.
The BOSS started getting tired and started stopping every couple of seconds to catch his breath.
It was a big difficulty spike for me. :[
Well, that and that defeat "90 enemies pl0x" mission.
But I failed that cuz the timer was so low...
I think it had something to do with the Oath of Honor i did.
Anyways, if this is gonna become like DFO, in that I can't party without getting weird latency that is nowhere to be found in solo play, then I am gonna cry.
This was fun until I started having trouble soloing. :T_T:

It's P2P, so latency depends on where your party leader is.

Zid wrote on 2010-09-22 17:35
Unless you were the party leader of those parties, the lag comes from those other party leaders' locations and upload rate, due to the P2P system.
I would help, but I have bad upload rate. But then again, since we both live in the same state...

When you make a party, put in parenthesis the State you live in, should help people close to join. Hopefully then you will have less lag >< Also could be your internet connection :x DSL don't work great with this game D:

I have good-enough internet connection I guess, I mean you might miss a few things every other area, but nothing that will get you killed... at least until you face the Chieftain... I hate that... SO MUCH!

Don't forget that there is a solo challenge for the Gnoll Chieftian as well. What are you doing in the rest of the stage that takes you forever? I run thru the stage pretty quickly. I just can't kill the Gnoll Chieftian by myself though.
Anyone know what kind of ports we need to open to have a better P2P thing?

27000-27050 is what Baku said.
And the game is really laggy in 'OB' compared to CB. I used to run around with a 5 bar in Teddy Bear raid in CB but now I get 1 bar in any party. It's pretty annoying to see people jumping every 2 seconds and then get pimp slapped by a boss while I'm frozen.

Lol, pimp slapped... I like that usage XD

I found out soloing one powerful boss is actually MUCH easier than soloing three weak bosses at once (slingshot brothers. ugh).

Which is why some people have a harder time soloing "Revenge" than "Decisive Battle". Also, soloing "Final Slingshot" boss is easier than soloing "Prepare for Counterattack."
The difficulty scale is: 1 mob > masses of mob > 1 boss (due to its no-knockdown/hard-to-stun nature) > multiple bosses

For me, the 3 Slingshot Brothers just kept stunning each other, so it was pretty easy.
Against Polar Bear I'd only have the time to use LLR before having to run away, takes forever and always ends up in me making a mistake and dying =\

Masses of mobs aren't too difficult, it's more like masses of weak bosses, since they don't get KB'ed enough. the "friends" (stupid name) mission was pretty easy.

No no, the rest of the stage is a cakewalk. xD
Or... well, I mean it's of no comparison to the boss, I guess.
The boss itself took me forever.
The stage wasn't bad.
I think if I had to recall and make a guess for how long the boss himself took me...
15~25 minutes.
TOO LONG.
I'm so weak.
Also, I hate P2P games. D:
Lemme check what my upload speed it...
/checks
Well, I went to speedtest and chose some server in the east since I play on the east server and....
I got 5 Mb/s Download and...
Sweet Lord...
0.42~0.63 Mb/s Upload...
So low D:
Looks like I won't be hosting games...

Rather sure you can't name parties, otherwise I'm just clueless and can't recognize simple things like that.
OT: If there isn't a guide already, and if you want me to, I'll write a guide on how to read his movements so he's easier to dodge/out maneuver.
