I have a question (this being my first) on the skills of a giant. I'm on the verge of rank 1 windmill, and I'm wondering about Stomp. From what people tell me, it's a poor man's windmill. But looking at the stat bonus and the .4 second charge time at rank 5 plus I'm having second thoughts. The training for stomp is not necessarily a walk-in-the-park, and is far easier than the other CP based skill I plan on ranking which is Combat Mastery. So before I spend a crap load of ap and raise my cp even further on stomp, can someone enlighten me on the usefulness of stomp vs mobs and in PvP?
Note: I don't really want to spend zillions of dollars on -cp enchants. I have two -cp equipments for a total of -200.

Do it right away. You can do a lot of it in Their Method (Tara SM).
It's good because it's like a Humans FH stats but its WAY less AP!
It's useful for grabbing aggro to set up WM or Thunder. If you YouTube it you can find some great things.
It's best to do it right away since you need to hit mass Awful, Strong, and Boss enemies.

Combat mastery really doesn't need to be worried about in terms of CP and training unless you're talking about the master title or something, which is going to probably be an over time thing anyway. On topic, stomp is semi useful if you know how to use it. It's nice to stop enemies if you need a fast loading skill and they're running at you and it's fairly easy to train, although at times it can get annoying if it lags or something. I would think it would be decent in PvP, since it ignores defense and has a fairly constant damage. But, the real usefulness of stomp is the stats you get from it. +31 str and stamina as well as +40 str if you use the master title (which is what I see most giants rank it for) Not the most useful skill in the world to actually USE, but the 153 AP that it takes to rank it is worth it the 71 str, in my opinion.
For training, as Zackeh said, Their Method is a wonderful training spot for it (if you have the correct CP/levels) and just regular zombies in TNN. It's actually really easy to train, if that's a worry. You can do it in about... 4-6 hours? if you have the potions, AP and a good place to spam stomp. Aside from that, you probably won't need to worry about CP that much in the future. From what I've seen, people exaggerate with having "too much" CP. The big problem you'll see from stomp in it's usefulness, it uses a lot of stamina. I don't know where the people that told you "a poor mans windmill" thought when they said it, but it takes up 15 stamina, compared to WMs 10, at rank 1.
With that, it's more for situational use. Par snow crystal, PvP(?) and mild usefulness in dungeons/field monsters to avoid getting hit.
Hope that helps~

If you CP is still around 1.1k at Lv1k, which it probably should be considering giants won't be raising Adv magics, you can still train on HM Their method I think.
But holding it off that long would make you miss out on cheap STR D:

It's also worth ranking for the master title - 4 extra max damage at the cost of only 2% more crit compared to Bear Slayer with a Single Blow.
