how many times can you upgrade a weapon for dura with gems i mean does it count as a regular upgrade? and if not can i upgrade it how many times i want?

You do it after all your normal upgrades and I think you can only do it once.
I think some shields allow for two, but I'm not sure about that.

Weapons allow 1 Gem Upgrade, while Shields allow 2.
Also, for both, you can only upgrade for +durability once.

The name "repair" is very misleading.
