Becoming a Dark Knight isn't even part of G3, it's after G3. So if you don't want to be a DK yet, just don't do the quest.

I can't answer for the melee question, but I believe if you turn down being a Dark Knight you can become one later if you change your mind. If you do choose Dark Knight, it's impossible to become a Paladin again, however there are rumors saying otherwise.

After this you will be sent back to Tir Chonaill; if you answer that you haven't decided, you will stay a Paladin and remain in Another World but your Armor of Darkness will be gone. If you change your mind later, you can return and tell the Black Wizard you want to become a Dark Knight at any time; the "Where Black Wizard Is" keyword will remain in your travel journal.

You can.
Not directly g10 though, simply because you have to go g9->g10.

Dark Knight is really for Hybrids.
If you rank power of order and sword of order to r1, then the extra dmg that dk gets from str roll is really negligible.
If you are dk then you will be crippled if you don't get the roll of your main skillset. While for a hybrid, str roll-> get swords. dex roll ->get bow. int/mana roll ->get wand.

I disagree. I think Dark Knights are purely catered for mages (because of high Mana/Intelligence pool) and the Str/Dex roll is for when mages hybridize. Not saying Dark Knight is only for mages though. All forms of combat can benefit from Dark Knight's incredible Critical though; that's usually the main draw. The other draw is the ability to tank high dmg better than Paladins, vice versa with low dmg for Paladins. Paladins are sheer power in their own rights with Melee/Ranged, plus have a better Stamina pool for Alchemy.
That being said, Dark Knights are not worse than Paladins. Like a weapon with very low min and very high max, there will be times when Dark Knights shine over Paladins, and other times when they're left in their shadows.
tl;dr
Paladin is good for now. Unless you like gambling with as a Dark Knight. Also, the quest to *choose* whether to become a Dark Knight or not is after G3. If you stay Paladin, you're still free to become a Dark Knight. However, once you're a Dark Knight, you can't go back to being a Paladin.

Stay Pally since you're a low level and are staying Melee.
Don't go DK until you are completely sure you want to. Most beginners do it for the rolls since they rely on them. But it's best to only go DK if you like PD and Magic (Int, Mana) over balanced damage.

OF COURSE im sure i want it i hate paladins i want the rank 5 dk trans but for now i guess ill stick to the pally since its better for melee but one day when ill advance my magic ill go dk THANKS ALOT EVERYONE

Zid makes a very good point. I would never think about going to DK, unless I really got into advanced magic. Bolts don't count.
