But you can't be nice about everything. Being too nice leaves a false sense of having done the right thing.

sugarcoating critique gets people nowhere, just sayin'. ;V saying it flat-out has much more of an impact than sugarcoating it and being "nice" about it.

it's hard to critique something when there is nothing right about it.
i'll just leave this here.
I have done realism and a lot of it. It is just a different concept for me doing a digital painting. I am sorry that there is nothing right about my image and I will do better next time to impress you. That is all I can offer.

Yeah, it's different, but believe me, once you practice with the pen tool and get better you'll see much better results with your drawings.
They turn out more structured and less melty and soft.
I will try practicing with the pen tool. However, I have not always liked black on top of my final images. I might just have to get over my grudge of it or do a different method with the colors. Thanks for the advise.

It doesn't have to be black.
If you were going into anime, you'd have to get good at lines eventually. You can make them different colours and everything, but in the end it does come down to lines.

the OP image doesn't show any sort of understanding of anatomy, proportions, lighting, or spacing. the point really is to be able to grasp these things so you
can stylize effectively and not have them come out terrifying. if you did, as you claimed, have a decent grounding in how these things work, this picture would look far different.

Work with the pixels .-. Remember that the same segments can be redrawn indefinetely.

Thanks. I know about changing the line's colors but most anime pictures I see are black over top the final. And it seems to look better on them then on my own.

As I stated, working with my tablet is far different then working with paper, pencil, ink, and paints. I have never tried anime as full body as I tend to suck at most usual things (hands, feet). Doing human is a lot easier for me to do than doing anime for some weird reason.

What do you mean "work with the pixels"? Sorry for my not understanding.

It means you can magnify and change things incrementally if you so need to. You can't do that with use a eraser in real life to erase and change things that are less than a milimeter apart.

Thanks. I will try that next time I work on a picture.

You know, she said many many times that it was her first time using a tablet.

Well I apologize then.
There's nothing else to do but to keep trying. You'll eventually get it.

Thank you. I will just play around some more on it. I've have the tablet, an aweful week of losing a cat, then gaining a new kitten, and it just is procrastination to the boot as well as school and work. I will just continue to work on this picture plus others. Will trying using the pen tool more, and will try not to make it all melty and such. Thanks for the advice.

Cide, all I'm going to say, is:
Art is subjective, if you have nothing nice to say, and the OP takes offense to it, than you're the one going to end up with an infraction. If you can't critique without insulting someone at all, don't post. Consider this yours and anyone else's warning who comes in a thread and just goes "It sucks." I'm very disappointed.
OT:
It's her first week with a tablet, she has work, school and me and doesn't spend her long days developing her Computer Graphic skills like some of us do. I agree'd that for her first work on her tablet, it looks pretty good, and will eventually get there as something that you'll be flabbergasted about after a few months of her practicing. :)

I agree with Byte that it's good for the first time with a tablet.
The first time I used my tablet I drew a pretty crappy face with the hairline and eyes up too high.
Some advice: Start with a big image so you can zoom in for details later. It helps loads.
