Actually, I think Cide could've been a little bit nicer.
Instead of saying, there's nothing good about it. Why not say,
that's a good start, here's a good website to help you strengthen your technique?
That didnt say it was bad, but it also didn't say it was fantastic, you know what I mean?
Sugarcoating things does not help the person make progress, but downright insulting their work doesn't encourage anyone at all. In fact, it makes them wanna give up. You gotta be a little optimistic when helping people, even if they're slow learners.
Constructive criticism:
Quote from Kazuni;193043:
Everything, like Homicide said, is kinda melty droopy.
I'd suggest playing a bit more with lineart first before trying a sort of painted effect.
Sharper lines.
Pen tool instead of brush/spray/whatever-you're-using?
Quote from Mentosftw;193054:
.-. I'd advise lines. Never tell yourself you can't do this. Drawing takes years of practice and you can't be good at anything unless you practice.
Quote from Bieber;193655:
Just keep practicing. I hate drawing with a tablet to so I understand how frustrating it is when the drawings don't match the same standard you have with pen and paper ones.
Destructive criticism:
Quote from Cide;193026:
that's terrifying.
Quote from Cide;193031:
everything looks like it is melting and it also has big fat soulless eyes that make no sense (among other things.)
Quote from Cide;193064:
it's hard to critique something when there is nothing right about it.
i'll just leave this here.
See the difference?
Though I think Yuminia handled it quite well.
