Crit enchants

  For elf archer you'll want to look at a 1 hp build.
  This gives you the opportunity to go into deadly after one hit and pot immediately to be safe.
  
  Dauntless (rank A prefix) and Thief (rank A suffix) will work well on equipment to reduce a lot of hp, and also add a lot of critical as well.
  
  For weapons look at Stiff to increase damage. Not too sure what you can do about the suffix though, maybe thief or something else that's better.
  
  This might not be a cheap setup but I feel it's the best worth for its money.
  
  The other alternative is to go damage/critical route, which is probably fox/thief which should be easy to obtain.

  I like Lizard, but that requires exploration and has negative effects.
  It's not too bad... look it up :O
  It's also easier to enchant than Stiff =)
  Just know that it's still a Prefix.
  
  If you don't want to risk dura loss, go for Simple. I think it's a common ES available in many SMs.
  The headgear choice should definitely be Stiff (Add your suffix enchant here. As Yogurt said, Thief is good).
  I also noticed that Rainbow and Glowing from Rafting is a good choice for Critical. Rainbow adds 15 luck, which can get you a good bit of crit. Glowing just adds crit, lol.
  They are r9, but they are suffix, and prefix respectively.

  Thief spam works just fine, though you will most likely end up with very low HP. I'd recommend using other enchants to adjust your HP to 10~20 so you can take advantage of auto-deadly. The "Seduced a Succubus" title will give you the equivalent of 4% critical in addition to 20 dex and will also lower your defense, which is very helpful with this type of build... Stiff/Lizard/Snowfall for weapons is a must, and if you're feeling lucky you can spam Rundal normal HM for a Light enchant (+15 dex/+10 luck on accessories).

  1 hp also puts you into auto-deadly.

  Having more than 1 HP gives you the option of using Windmill as a defensive move without instantly becoming deadly. Besides, wounds seem to take far longer to recover the lower your HP is. I haven't used a low-HP build in quite some time, but if I recall correctly 10~20 just seemed to work best for me.

  and isn't it the most annoying thing when a weak monster hits you? you go into deadly automatically even from a fox =<

  10-20 really is the best option for archers. Closer to 10 being preferable, since Windmill isn't really commonly used.
  However wounds recover at the same rate no matter what your HP is. But 10 is able to be healed in a single low potency Wound Recovery potion, making it ideal (20-30 for melee using high potency, for more Windmills)

  Wounds do have the same base recovery rate, however First Aid seems far less effective the lower your HP is. Sometimes it's nice to save a wound pot or two by just using bandages in-between rooms, but having 1 HP will make you consume far more bandages in order to recover the same amount of wound points. However, if you're not as stringent on wound pots like I am it shouldn't matter at all.

  Contrarily, you can easily heal wounds just by switching equipment. For example, if I have 20 HP and get fully wounded, a single mend would heal ~2HP for 10 mends. If I simply take off my glove my wounds change to 20/50, heals 5 per mend, and now only needs 4. So the more -HP you have, the more you can change and reduce the amount of first aid you need.
  
  In actuality, all the people who use this build (that I know personally) are using over -100HP in effects. Even when fully wounded, switching weapon slots allows us to only need one mend.

  Switching equipment works, as well as taking advantage of trans' HP boost to mend more efficiently. In speed runs, however I didn't normally bother to switch out gear and my bow was usually enchanted for damage and not -HP, so it made quick switching a little less accessible. With a more ideal setup and a bit of patience it's less of an issue.
  
  One thing I do miss about the setup was how equipped items lasted quite a bit longer before needing to be repaired (very helpful if you use enchanted accessories), since you effectively cut down the number of times you get hit by most enemies. Either way, I guess I'll stop for now since we're steering off a bit from the OP's initial inquiry lol.

  You don't need to go for a low HP build, but Thief spam will lower your health to such an extent that you will have better chances of survival by lowering your HP further and using such a build. There are certainly many alternatives to gain significant crit without spamming Thief, but they can be more expensive.
  
  The first step should be choosing the right bow and capping your crit to the mobs you will be fighting. I'd recommend a stiff/lizard 144 or 153 Long Bow for decent damage and critical if you can already reach 80% balance with them... if you need a bit more crit still, a stiff/lizard Composite Bow will do well but the loss of range and stun over a long bow is not optimal for elf range. A very good alternative to Composite Bows is the 124 Elven Long Bow, but its damage is a little lackluster.
  
  As for the rest of your equips, Fearless/Thief spam works well but the HP loss will make you very fragile if you're not planning to go the low HP route, and will take away valuable slots that could be used for +dmg enchants.
  
  You can also add in some damage enchants if you reach your desired critical rate, I personally used the following equipment set for quite some time and I could easily reach upwards of 90% crit:
  Headgear: Stiff Thief Tail Cap
  Accessories: Light Thief x2
  Clothes: Victorious Thief
  Gloves/Shoes: Sacrificial Thief
  Weapon: 153 or 144 Stiff Thief/Energetic Long Bow
  
  After you've advanced enough in the game and can grind for better enchants, I'd recommend working towards something along the lines of my current equipment set:
  Headgear: Round Delusional Tork's Merchant Cap
  Accessories: Light Lilly x2
  Clothing: Victorious/Extraordinary White Horse
  Glove: Wooden Needle Dignified Wooden Plate Cannon
  Boots: Diamond Raven Long Greave Boots
  Weapon: Stiff Palm Tree 153 Long Bow
  
  You should be able to reach 110% crit for the above as well as have some decent damage, but it might be very expensive and will take some effort.
