Quote from Ailyene;203517:
Oh, I thought the wearing purple was only towards gays. If it's towards bullying, that makes a lot more sense then.
Unfortunately, even though there are a lot of places who can help people in emotional stress from whatever reason, a lot of the kids don't even try. =/
Wearing purple is for anti-gay bullying.
But it's just to send a message about homophobia and bullying combined.
And yes, it's unfortunate. A lot of people give up when they have problems, thinking that they won't be able to fix it. But you have to keep going! Because one day all that effort will be worth it.

I feel bad for all my gay friends. The stupidity of this man is horrifying and his grammar....Let's just say it doesn't help him look any smarter.

No, it doesn't make you gay. If you read carefully, wearing purple is just to make a statement about how bad situations like this are. Just because you're not gay doesn't mean you can't stand up for a gay persons' rights (while remaining straight). And just because you're wearing purple doesn't mean you're joining the cause. Wear what you want. You know who you are. If you don't care about it just leave it alone and continue on with your life. Wearing a color isn't going to change who you are, and being gay isn't really what wearing purple means anyway.

The whole "Wear purple" thing was to honor the teens who killed themselves from anti-gay bullying

For the record, he didn't get that hatred from Christianity but rather some perverted ideals snuck in under the guise of such things.
