Haha. I once thought about eating something really unhealthy, downed two large full glasses of water, and soon regretted even thinking about wanting to eat whatever it was. Full stomach of water hurts.. Needless to say I'm not going that extreme again, but water really helps keep me in check if I want to eat something I shouldn't be.
I watched show about a girl who did that. She drank water when she was hungry. She was water drunk.

I can get drunk on water? Why would I buy alcohol! I can understand how that would happen, though, seeing as how being that full of water makes me feel seriously sluggish. That's why I only did it that one time, and then toned it down. XD

I would join this group to be healthy but I'm trying to gain weight and not lose it.
99 pounds and 16 isn't healthy. :/

It is a work out.
The purpose isn't to become some buff body builder or lose 80 pounds in a week.
Its to live a more fit and healthier life style.
The value of 20 push ups is greatly undermined by everyone nowadays because of a few reasons.
1. Its rushed. By going as fast as you can, you're actually letting a spring type motion let you carry you. The momentum makes it easier. This means you're actually using physics to do push ups, not your muscle.
2. Most people don't go down all the way. They just go half way and get back up. Its not a real push up.
By taking it slow and doing a full push up, you're getting as much exercise as you would if you were to do 100 quick ones.
Same logic applies to all other self-weight based exercises. Take it slow, and its far more effective than most other exercises based on equipment or anything extreme.
I do my squats with my arms held forward, with 10 pound weights in each arm. After doing 20 of them nice and slowly, the strain burns every part of your body.
And mowing the lawn is a good work out. You're pushing a large machine on a huge lawn. To cover the whole thing I'm walking about one mile, and thats cardio. My house is actually on a hill, so going up requires a lot of pushing, and going down requires a lot of pulling. I use bags too, so that adds to the weight, and to dump it in the trash its actually lifting.
Maybe the cat should try some manual labor.

My, my. Here comes Thanksgiving. I'm going to need to watch myself very carefully. I'm prone to over-eating every Thanksgiving. The food is just so good. It's also really cold lately, and that makes me really lazy in regards to going outside. Still, I'll try. Final projects don't make having time any easier.

Cut deep fried foods as much as possible, and cut carbonated drinks.
Easy first step.

...Is it a bad thing that I was drinking Mountain Dew and just ate some fried chicken before reading this?

You can treat yourself every once in a while.
Just need to take it out of a daily diet and turn it into maybe something you do on a weekly occasion or something.
Though I heard that completely cutting a sugary drink diet will eventually make it so you no longer crave it, but since I'm not trying to turn you into a boring dull dbag who ruins everyone's mood by refusing to drink a mountain dew and giving them all a lecture about the things it does to your body, go ahead and order yourself a nice drink when you're out in a restaurant eating out with friends or family.
Drink lots of water. Alternatively fruit juices, tea, milk, etc. Since weight loss isnt a goal, you're totally allowed to have sweetened tea and whole milk.
Avoid lemonade. They're worse than mountain dew.
For meats you should try to stick to white meat like chicken, turkey, fish. Preferably the breast meat, which is the most nutritious and least unhealthy.

I never really liked lemonade, but I also didn't know it was worse than Mountain Dew, either. XD

If you make it the traditional way, where you squeeze lemon into cold water with sugar, its good.
Nowdays the mass production type uses powders and artificial flavors, and they've found it was about as unhealthy as it gets.

I was in a car accident in april that limited my movement.. pretty much all together (shattered knee, fractured wrist) which just recently I'm getting up and about again. I gained probably 34-40lbs by not being able to exercise so I need to start living a healthier lifestyle. I just have no idea how. ><

Ah, I see. So the "organic" stuff is still healthy. Too bad I don't like it anyway.
I hear eating 6 small meals instead of 3 big ones also helps, but I'm not sure what's "big" and what's "small" for some people. I'm sure some need more food than others.
