Leveling and Destruction Points

Hello. If anyone would indulge me, I would be much obliged if anyone could answer these questions.

1)Is it better to level solo or in parties? I see people with multiple maxed our chars and I'm baffled at how they did that when the game has been out like 3 weeks? With limited tokens, I simply assume it's better to level solo in order to maximize the amount of experience received.

2)Would it be better to level first and do quests later? I ask this because I seem to waste a lot of tokens going back to low experience levels just to finish quests. However, the title rewards seem to be worth it, so maybe certain quests could be prioritized and other ones put off till later?

3)At max level cap, since you're stuck using a set of equipment till whenever the next content update is, how do destruction points factor in? What I mean is, wouldn't the destruction points on your gear rack up to a point where it's simply no longer worth repairing and instead it'd be better just to buy/craft a new set? I really dislike the whole destruction points system, so I'm hoping that there are ways to get rid of them in the future.

In terms of either leveling fast or not, it's all about what you want. Is it to reach max level? Get all the content? Access the alternative weapons? Or just have fun? (Well I just enjoy the game anyways) You decide. Though to level the fastest, soloing is for the best (Though its pointless to solo if you can't kill, so you can set up a party of a max of 2 people, duos are fun).

Now whether to do quests or leveling first, I would do leveling unless the items which the quest needs is somewhere that gives a lot of exp. I tend to do all the main quests and get all the BP i need for the next stage before doing my other quests.

About deterioration points, the gold increase doesn't seem to get that much bigger. Alternatively, you could just wear newbie armor or not wear anything at all. Also enhancing gear will remove all of the deterioration points. (However, the item is no longer sellable through the market so you'd have to npc it when you're done with the armor)

1) Solo gives the most experience for your tokens. Max level isn't that hard in this game. You don't need to grind 24/7 to get it.

2) Do all the quests. Collecting those quest titles is a really good thing. It gives you something to do in the meantime as well.

Evidence? All I've seen it do is go from 3k Det -> 0 Det. I might not have seen it right though... so how big of a chunk?

WUT I always thought that enhancing resets the deterioration.

1) Solo means the combat exp isn't shared (more exp) and you don't lag nearly as much =D
2) Depends on which quest, usually you would try to do the quests along with lvling. But there are some quests like the one that requires 11 strawberry iced brandies (after you already gave him like 6) which I would avoid until I have the spare time/tokens.

I don't know what the deterioration I had when I enhanced it, but my crimson rage helmet came out with 25 deterioration.

I'm sure of this as it was my first ever enhance so I was scrupulously checking everything that changed.

But that may have just been a bug, and it is supposed to totally reset.

I'm pretty sure enhancing is total reset, because my 5.8k Det BP helm went to 0 after enhancing. Then again knowing that it's Ferghus doing the enhancing... maybe there's a "Fail success" which adds deterioration when you enhance D:

I'd say you don't understand what we're talking about. We're talking about deterioration, not condition and not durability.

When I did the enhance in question, it was shortly after enhancing was released, so it's likely what happened to me was a bug.

Durability: decreases when you get hit in dungeons. When durability of a piece of armour reaches 0, it breaks. Durability shown by holding the [alt] key. Orange pieces are low on durability, red pieces are broken. Restore it in dungeons with campfire anvil or armour repair kit. Restored to max once you leave the dungeon. Max durability increased by leveling armour proficiency skills. Mob attacks take away more durability points on SoM oath.

Condition: decreases when you enter a dungeon that normally requires token payment, and also while changing maps by 5-6 points for helm (?), 3 for greaves (?), etc. When condition reaches 0, it breaks. Condition is shown by pop-up thingy in inventory window. Condition cannot be restored in dungeons, and condition remains when exiting dungeon. Restored to max by visiting, uh, Ferghus. Not restored by enhancing.

Deterioration: increases by the number of condition points restored. Means more gold is required to restore the same number of condition points. Reset by enhancing. I believe failing to enhance increases this as well. Wasn't really paying attention.

Alright. So Enhancing is supposed to reset deterioration to 0, right? Let's say I have a pair of +2 Premium Rookie Boots, Condition 90/100, Deterioration 9001pt.

If I restore it and then enhance it in that order, it goes to +3 Premium Rookie Boots, Condition 100/100, Deterioration 0pt.

But if I enhance it first, it'll go to +3 Premium Rookie Boots, Condition 90/100, Deterioration 0pt. Restoring immediately after that gives you a +3 Premium Rookie Boots, Condition 100/100, Deterioration 10pt. I was speculating that that was what happened in your case, Whyrainfalls.

For the third time, deterioration not being reduced to 0 was likely a bug, condition has no effect on deterioration when enhancing.

Condition is increased by an amount which is added to both current and total condition during enhancing. This happens separately from changes in deterioration.

You said condition is not restored by enhancing, but at the end had condition be restored by an enhance. I'm not sure what those numbers came from, but I think that was just a theoretical enhance, which doesn't reflect changes during actual enhances.

What happened in my case was that there were left-over amounts of deterioration even after enhancing multiple times. However, I believe this was the cause of an early marketplace glitch where deterioration that was on an item when it was bought could not be erased by enhancing. Whatever the case was back then, it's since been fixed, so we should leave it at that.
