eMachines Laptop 15.6" Black With Windows 7 Home Premium - Walmart.com
Is it worth getting as a birthday present?
Is it good enough to run games on?
Can I run Sims 3 on it?
Basically, can it run things good?

Yeah can we find out a good cheap lap top that can run most online games?

I was being sarcastic. I really need a lap top of my own. This is my mom's lap top and it sucks so badly. I'm surprised it can run Mabi. I really want an affordable lap top my parents can buy for me on christmas, that I can game on.

I dont wanna run Sims 3, I wanna run Vindictus at a reasonable setting.

I don't think that would run it very good at all. :x

This is Xiya's thread. Wait for more recommendations from other people or make your own thread. Don't hijack hers. Also Sims 3 is more demanding then Vindictus IMO, so most likely if there is a laptop that can play Sims 3 it can also play Vindi.

You don't want this for gaming, but at the same time you're being offered a freaking laptop for a birthday.
I'd take it in a heart beat, my parents never bought me anything worth more than 10 bucks.

Why waste space and make another thread xD whatever though he's looking for the same thing I am so I'll just wait.

Finding a laptop that is able to run Video games good maybe hard to do with a tight budget.

Which is what I was hoping you would do. :P
I just presented you both options.
Xiya is also a she, btw.

You want to have around 700 dollars or more for a gaming laptop.
I found one for 600 last year in black friday, but that was a serious exception.
-
Shirayuki wrote on 2010-11-25 18:25
Yeah, laptops able to run games usually cost 500+, and to be able to run games well, they usually cost ~800. Maybe less since its Black Friday.

Depends on what you're going for.
Mabinogi, I could easily find one that runs fine at around 500 dollars.
Vindickus, we'd need to look around 700 to run it.
To be able to run a game like Vindickus in good quality, and use features like video record, you're probably looking at around a thousand dollars. A desktop of 600 dollars could do the same though, so its always more useful to get a desktop for gaming and multimedia while you keep a laptop for work, school, and internet.

Yeah, I honestly use my laptop purely for Skype and schoolwork, and use my desktop(which cost ~350) for gaming. And it can run Vindickus(at 30 fps D:).

Thing is I can't get a long enough wire for the ethernet cable. and im not a fan of desktops with wireless connections.
