Using Mouse makes typing mid-battle a pain, lol

Can you strike at nothing with a mouse?
Because doing that is pretty useful to gaining hits for smash attacks.

you can, and...

screenies as promised. set the in-game mouse sensitivity to max (20 i think, yes its a bit much but you wont be using the mouse really with this configuration, and combined with the xpadder settings seems to work perfect for cursor/camera). also set in game to grab when attack/smash pressed, and enemy tracking or or auto aim at enemies whatever the option is.

Of course, why wouldn't you be able to?

I use my keyboard. Keyboard and mouse just seems like too much to think about to me.

Wow, I'm surprised how many people don't just use keyboard and mouse. Maybe its cause the only type of game I usually play are PC first person shooters, but there's no way I'd consider any other control scheme. Just gotta be sure to uncheck "attack in direction of the camera" so you have better control.

How many? There are pretty much 3 out of everyone who posted, so most people just use keyboard/mouse.

Pretty sure I counted 5, which is almost everyone who posted.

Who's the 5?

Whyrainfalls, Munime, Ruquion, Chesham, Lust, and Phanterz judging by his comment. I've seen people elsewhere using keyboard-only and stuff and it just surprises me, I dunno. Again its probably cause PC FPS is my most played genre by far, which is obviously only for keyboard + mouse.

If you uncheck "attack in direction of the camera" wouldn't that cause the game to auto lock to the nearest enemy thus giving you less control?

Oh, you mean mouse control versus keyboard control. I thought you were talking about Mouse or keyboard versus gamepad.

No, that's exactly why I unchecked it actually. With it enabled, I would often have the camera aimed right at the boss, and my character would turn around and hit an enemy that I CLEARLY wasn't aiming at. I mainly noticed this on Blood Prince... a random vampire would run out, I'd be looking RIGHT at the BP, and I'd turn around and attack the random vampire.
Unchecking it allows you to override any lock-on by always choosing the direction to attack with the directional buttons (WASD for me). Essentially, holding FORWARD while attacking is the exact same thing as "attack in direction of the camera", but it will ACTUALLY go in the exact direction of the camera, never locking on to anything.
Best part (in my opinion) is that you can press A or D to attack directly to the side, which is nice for charging smashes without moving any distance (LLLLR or whatever), like when you see the boss about to do a powerful attack so you just circle around him instead of getting closer while charging. Also, if you let go of all directional buttons while attacking, it does the lock-on (useful for just getting through trash mobs, but I rarely do this).
Its great!

I at first started with keyboard only but then I noticed that my gliding furies weren't that accurate so I switched over to mouse and keyboard.

I've played many FPSs, so I'm pro at mouse/keyboard.
