Like most MMOs in NA I expected the community to have a lot of assholes who wouldn't read messages or help out teammates.
Since Vindictus is pretty simple in its game play and appeals with its bloody, hackslash gameplay, I assumed the community would be even worse than usual.
However I'm pleasantly surprised at how the community has been so far.
Even when I join a random party and ask others if we can spear/kick monsters to death, the other people are usually happy to help out.
There hasn't been much raging when someone accidentally draws the boss to other members of when someone triggers a trap that kills two people.
Normally everyone just goes "lol" when this happens, I guess the free seals also helps out (rush to revive the dead person).
It's the third day since the patch and my guild (only requirement to join is level 30+) passed around every new armor set for people to get titles.
I joined in during the middle of the exchange and I was able to get the Spider Lord, Blood Silk, War Edge, and Light Plate titles at the cost of only ten minutes and about 50k for express mail fee.
Everyone was very fast in mailing the sets right after getting their titles and no one wasted time demanding the 10k mailing fee.
I'm pretty surprised that everyone trusted each other (there were members that almost never talked in chat) and the sets never got lost or stolen.
tl;dr Community is better than I thought it would be.

I don't really go into chat often since typing is a pain when lagging, but it doesn't seem to be loltroll like maplestory so far.
Since my activity isn't very stable, I'm not in a guild, so I don't have many people to talk to anyway.
Usually I just join random boats when I'm bored. It seems fine, and everyone's fine with the occasional kick/object kill, and they help, to my delight :> But then again, there are always the people who rush up to bosses and kill them with normal attacks/smashes even after the party leader says stop to spear/kick/object.
I don't talk much, if at all, and that probably benefits my impression of people in-game, since grammar, spelling, and other things really set a deep impression for me. If you can't talk with proper grammar/spelling, and won't type out the first two letters in "you", I probably don't like you.

In-game....... not so bad.
Official forums...... inner bowels of 4chan.

A bit nicer than most.
Friends and guildes, nice. Random people, mostly fine.
Though I do met a lot people who just wouldn't listen, even if you specific named spear kill + break off, and said in game for more than 3 times, they still want to pull that smash off on a boss near to death. That's why when I mostly solo while trying to get bp or titles.
I think the token system helped limiting those trolls, making the community generally nicer. I doubt those trolls would save their token; instead, they probaly flushed those down white tyrant in two hours and went to nexon forum complaining not enough tokens.

Main forums are non-existant for me really. In game people are nice!

I don't do any random dungeons with people really, just because I can't stand someone spending the whole time in a timed mission running from the boss instead of doing things or so clueless about it they continuously ask, so how do I do the smash your doing? or something silly like that ._.

I believe the community in general is friendly and supportive in game, but also has its aberrations. Yesterday, I joined a PUG for a Boat 4 mission. Host asked for coins. I was low at the time and could only make 1 more run, so I declined. He kicked me.
Online forums, however, are not worth mentioning.

In-game community is alright I guess, although I don't really chat with people or join many random parties to begin with, only for things I'm having trouble solo with. Only incident that comes to mind was when me and some others got kicked out of a polar bear party for "not spearing" even though I was. Ah well.
Official forums however, make me think of the community pretty negatively unfortunately, but thankfully it's not prevalent.

I agree that the Nexon forums are horrid, but they don't seem to reflect a majority of the players in-game. I think everyone has run into a few daisies. A few nights ago one of the players thought it would be funny to break every box in sight as we tried to search for something to put on the campfire, then laughed and left shortly afterward. Not really a big deal, but players going out of their way to try to ruin your battle is uncommon enough that it surprises me when it happens.

In the time I've played, most of the time, I didn't run into any trouble, and actually got a few smiles because of maturity and the warm moods.
I would hold my breath after Vindictus has been going for a few years though.

I've only ever been in a couple hardcore runs, both times it was for getting Savage Eye, so totally understandable. The rest of my runs, always fairly easy going. People get drop-kicked through a wall by a giant knoll? They laugh it off, and nobody minds dodging around a bit to revive.
Even semi-intentional things like spearing a teammate and then them getting owned by a trap are just a big joke. The people who are really serious mostly do invite-only runs, or drop out at the early levels when they find the community is fairly laid back.

As a general rule, I don't PUG. In the beginning, I PUGed a bit because I was new to the game and my friends stopped playing. Main reason I don't PUG is lots of bad people out there and lag when other people host. I think generally the community is ok, seems like every other MMO community. You got your jerks, beggars, annoyances, and then you got your pretty cool and chill group of people. Took a few weeks to find the later.

The in-game community hardly exists for me. I log on (rarely these days), do a few runs of something and get out. I don't talk to anyone, I don't party, and the only interaction I have with the game that involves others is when I buy from the market board.

I don't really go with strangers anymore, I think 95% of the time it's with friends/guild members. The couple of pugs I've done have been horrible (speed run with Lanns arguing about spear/swords, made me sad). I have, however, found several people outside of my usual circle that I've liked. :) So it makes up for it!

Running in Lanns who don't know the meaning of "die". But for the most part the community is really nice, you get the occasional joker and troll but it's all gravy.
