The problem I see is that the only way to make money in the game is by merchanting. If there was a better, non-merchanting, way to make gold, everyone would benefit. - everyone except nexon, that is. And there lies the problem.
all sources of gold comes from 1 source, monsters/dungeons, sometimes NPCs but you can't get the items to sell to NPCs without selling something you got off monsters or dungeons so yeah
Out of the whole topic, I feel Radionoise is correct; this is the only good thing about these events.
I'm personally am well equipped, played for a long time, and used to merchant. I've seen all the events that brings old rares to commons. I'm not bugged by this because this allows everyone finally get a hand on the item they always wanted. So what if it's more common? I feel like it's a good thing that the economy is deflating.
Yes, I have taken university microeconomics, and we all know how it works. I'm also well effected by this, but I'm not mad because I'm not elitist about the top players are only exclusive to these popular items.
I believe, outside of the whole economic debate, nexon is also trying to make it more beginner friendly. Give the new players a chance to get nice items. All MMOs now are focusing on increasing players to increase revenue. This includes inviting veterans and also brand new players to the game. Before you think "EVIL NEXON TRYING TO INCREASE REVENUE! RAGE!!1" It's not just Nexon, it's also Blizzard, Gravity, Steam, and other gaming industry.
I'm just glad Nexon doesn't introduce huge Game breaking items as rewards. But I see them trying.
also agreed, there's really nothing wrong with an item being more common, specially now that mabi's beginning to have so many things that people can be somewhat original and not look like duplicates of one another
though I also see the down side to working hard for an item and then everyone else getting it easily, which is why I hardly ever work hard for an item, I get them as I go (if I wanted to and can afford to at the time, etc)
