I don't get how people get Ego's then hardly use them and only use them on 'special occasional' when facing a boss or something. Back when I had my 2handed Ego I used it only for Bosses since Dual Wielding was so much better but since I've ditched it and gotten a LLB Ego I've been abusing it. Why? Well its stronger, I was just sitting here thinking on what to prof to 100 and upgrade and what enchants to get on my other LLB's and Ring bows and it came to my attention, why when I have something thats better, faster and stronger?"
Leather Long Bow's have to be by far the most low maintenance Ego's out their. Repairing is cheap when you have a 25+ Elf Prof mule on Thursday and feeding is made easy with Price's 5 and 7 signs and when you don't have Price you can just use Daggers.
I use my Ego over all Bow's, I just have no use in them anymore. Rafting is the main reason why I have my Ego llb and I don't know a bow that could outclass it. Not even a 230 Ring Bow out-damages now so I'm like 'Why waste the money upgrading one when I have something stronger, better and faster?'
Even in normal combat when I SCC I use mainly because its stronger then my 222 Goddess Caliburn Broadswords, mainly because I have much more dex then str since I'm age 11 and get 0.75 dex and only 0.5 str and that I have more dex skill ranked.
So my main discussion topic is: Do you use your Ego weapon as a regular weapon for combat? If you do say where and how you use it, where being SM's, rafting, etc and how is with what skills. If you don't, then why not?

I do, I buy spirit repair pots though.
And until I ditched my ego wand it was lower maintenance then my spirit llb.

I never use my ego llb, even though its much stronger then my Glorious Caliburn Long bows. It just doesn't have enough crit to be useful in Hard mode shadow missions.~

I consider certain items and skills part of my final line of defense.
1. Equip ego
2. Paladin transformation
3. Demigod trasformation
If a fight isn't going my way, i'll likely pull out the above steps in that order. That being said, i've repaired over 250 points of durability on my social level 22 spirit crossbow and I haven't lost any maximum durability yet.

My ego just chills in my inventory and is used for daily blessings.

I use it in hard mode SMs where lots of ego food drops~ Just.. it isn't strong enough for me to use seriously yet. 57~133 is just fail for now.

Since I've had my Ego I've:
- Broken it 4 times
- Repaired it 6+ times
- lost 3 max dur
I don't see the point on getting an Ego when you don't use it. I created my LLB ego for the specific reason to Raft with Crash shot, but now that I think of it I possible take this bow to end game and if I do that I'm wasting the opportunity of getting an end game Ring bow which would far outclass an end game Leather Long Bow. I've actually considered to kill my current LLB ego and make a Ring Bow and its not like I can't afford it since you hot air balloon glitch to get the ring bows and I do have a 25+ Elf Proffing mule which can get 1 12 dur ring bow to 100 prof from 12 till breakage point.
I'm not sure, I've already spent around 750k - 1.5m on my current ego and I'm already this far. It's 22 dur and thank god that dur increases when I increase Will. Time to go find price and feed it an item bag of 7 signs.

Well I plan to use my ego once it's strong enough.. cough200maxdamageatleastcough.
Mine's a dustin sword by the way. The one thing stopping me is I almost never have gold anymore. Conceptual Valencia armor owns my bank account.

2handed Ego's are pointless IMO. It's so much easier to just get a Jousting Claymore and use that as a Pseudo-ego and ego something else. It's half the reason why I killed my first ego which was a 2handed Ego. Ego Dunstin's swords can't beat its damage till all stats are 40 and 2handed Ego's can't beat till lvl 36 str.

Well exactly~ I'm thinking long run.
I've had 3 different egoes, a gladius, an llb and a dustin sword. Incarnated them all, but ended up going with the dustin sword. For me, it was reall because I like big swords, and like the raw devastation you can inflict with smash. I know it's not the smartest choice of ego, but yeah, I love it. ^^

I used to have an ego that I never used because I was afraid of breaking it. Now I have a crossbow ego that I use all the time, and repairing is a piece of cake. Having a monster retard charge you while you whittle it down with r1 AR is too much fun to go back to a sword.

I don't usually use it unless I can't deal my normal damage on whatever it is I'm fighting. I try not to use it without really good reason (good reason to me, I don't know about everyone else) because I don't really like having to repair it too often.

I agree that if what your fighting calls for the particular weapon why go with a weaker version? I have a ego bow that is weaker than my highlander atm but the minute it gets stronger the highlander will only be used in really high crit situations.

I have a dagger ego...
To use as a blessing function. 2 inventory spaces. I want a Tailoring Kit ego.
I don't have the money or patience to raise an ego, not especially with G13's upgrades coming around. Would I rather spend several millions and time on a few points of extra damage (in the later levels), or just spend just less than a million and just a single day for a few less damage and critical?

I see what you mean there with 2handed ego's being pointless. However, you can't just immediately knock off the damage of a level 40 Dustin Sword or level 50. Also, compared to a Jousting Claymore, an ego Dustin/Masamune will have much higher crit than a Jousting Claymore, which can be the difference between having a low chance to a decent/high chance of critting Hardmode SM monsters. Maybe if Nexon gave bow's more of a boost, then I could argue more, but I half feel that a bow ego is one of the best choices, considering how strong 2hander's can get. But.....then there's the fact that Jousting Claymores can't be repaired, what if you lose a jousting match, AND that if you made a Rich/Necromancer Crocodile Claymore/Highlander Clay, the -40 hp and -5 defense may screw you over, especially if say, a Shadow....let's say Commander can nearly kill you with a 3 hit combo and you have 340 hp. Lose that and game over xD
