This is just me, but I happen to LOVE hearing my Evie speak her Golem Commands, in fact. I take pleasure in spamming them
I guess I just have weird preferences when it comes to others. I'm not picky really. But ya, this is straying from the topic a bit...
140AP from dailies yesterday...but alas I need 250AP to finish my current golem rank before I can go rank up stam regen...
Tomorrow...BLOOMING STAFF! GO GO GO GO GO! I figure with this update I'll gain an extra +200int and gain another +2k magic attack damage :2thumb:

This is a pure staff evie build convo..no, one really cares about the snap and snap works if u can finish the combo. Firebolt does more burst damage in the game. I have a scythe evie I personally don't like it though, hence the reason why i stopped playing it lol.
But, back to staffs I love being a staff evie I like it's play style, it's different and I enjoy every moment of it. It's a build thats difficult to play and I like challengeing things it makes the game so much more fun. I'm patiently waiting on our new skills in the future.
The skills that I have thats at maxed atm are:
Intel mastery, magic mastery, agility mastery, create golem, golem mastery, magic arrow, magic crit hits, firebolt, eagle talon, SP: Blind arrow, healing, revive, and stamina recovery. So, i only have a few skills left to max.
I can't wait for tomorrows update as well. Blooming staff +67 intel and +3223 M.Attack, thorn ring +72 intel but, with two rings u get +144 intel. Not only that, but when you have the blooming staff and thorn ring euipped you get an extra +9 intel >333

Ya, yesterday I spent my time on Vindictus gathering Superior Iron ores to prep for it. At the moment, I just lack 2 red spider shells and the Green shells from the new mission we are getting. I figure that mission can give me the 2 red spider shells I need though seeing that it does have a giant red spider in it.

Time to hit the Hornets nest with a bat.
I liked how Whocares and Shira broke down into a Staff vrs Scythe debate neither was willing to back down from based solely on the pure dps factors and nothing else. Its the same argument why Spear Lanns are so infinetly superior in damage compared to swords that its a wonder that anyone plays swords. Then you play the game and watch those spear Lanns lying there dead on the ground asking for a Res while the Sword one hasnt been touched yet.
Staff while capable of incredibly impressive burst damage, just dosnt do as much damage as a Scythe Evie (And never assume all things Equal, nothing is ever equal). The Scythe Evie like the Spear Lann sacrifices versatility and some survivability in exchange for being a more damaging character. (I wont even get into the glass cannon pure cloth int build scythes evies who are becoming as bad as spear lann ). Staff is more for versatility and survivability over pure damage. After all in the listed examples....you know say against a boss that Scythe Evie is most likly not going to have the boss stand still there and not attack them while they spam Loom+THread over and over again while that Staff Evie can setup that Fireball easier and move around.

That's all well and good black but that's not the point of this thread. This topic of this thread is about if there are any other pure staff Evie's playing Vindictus. As I mentioned previously, if I wanted that kind of discussion I would have changed the title of my thread and OP.

I'm a Staffie. I used to be a Scythe user, then I got a bit bored with its hack and slash play style and went back to Staff. For me, Staff just offered a bit of diversity and strategy over Scythe, and even if, on paper, the Scythe is better, I enjoy playing as a Staff a lot more.

I don't see why people don't just switch between the two. I constantly switch around and I've got all my important scythe stuff maxed and most of the staff stuff maxed. It's fun being able to play 2 different playstyles.

Staffie here. Although I'm only lvl 22 so I technically don't have much of a choice. I do plan on remaining staff though.
I just like spellcasting in general, and it seemed like the staffie population is pretty small so I figured I'd add to the pool :P

I'm a stevie with all staff skills, but with smash and MoD at rank E. I tote a scythe just so i can kill stuff faster, since my teammate(s) dont really need heals P: staffs are best at lower level runs imo, and I usually wear it for dailies.
I'll go back to my roots a little later on in the game, probably, when perhaps they get more useful skills.

My character, Patch on the West server, is a staff-only Evie. Level 27, I know that's not much, but I really have been putting almost all my AP into staff skills.
I only really have 3 reasons for not going scythe lol:
1. "Patch" is a reference to Patchouli Knowledge from Touhou. She's a magician, and a damn good one too. It's to the point where, even with anemia and asthma so bad she can't properly recite her spells, she can still screw you over. Anyways, if I was going with scythes, I would have to have named my character Komachi or perhaps Elly. And yes, Elly is epic win. But still.
2. I like being the odd one out. Yeah, there are tons of scythe Evies running around, and I wanna be different. xD That way people will come up to me and ask me why I didn't go scythe later on, and I might be able to get a decent reaction out of them when I just shrug and say my character is a reference to my favorite character from Touhou. xD
3. I just like magic a lot and I wanted a magician character. In Mabinogi, I was going to make my elf a magician but in the end it seems that didn't work out. Mainly because I didn't like having to buy MP pots, I'm poor.

I think Stevie is really fun to play,
Im a scythe evie, but i still would like to switch to staff sometimes ^^
Staff give you more challenging since you have to time ur dodge and you have to be skilled to play Stevie

xD Oh god, I hated buying MP pots in Mabinogi. They were so expensive later on, that I started working on Archery.
But yay for more Staffies! I've noticed an upward trend in them, I think I was in a party with 3 the other day. o_O Which I thought was kind of excessive, but oh well!

I'm a Staffie so far, and pretty happy with it! I got level 24 the other day and when I got the first Scyth from Brynn I was like crap...this thing just took up a bag slot. lol
One thing I find sort of confusing is how Evie is perceived as a "Support" character, but so far I haven't really seen much to her that lends her to that role. Heal is great...but there's no buffing ability that generally is associated with a support class. I'm sure there's been tons of "discussion"(complaining) about it other places.
So for now I guess if I ever do partying/raiding I'll play support by melting the faces off of baddies.
:XD:
