Final Fantasy IV Complete Collection Jumps To PSP With New 2D Graphics
[Image: http://cache.gawkerassets.com/assets/images/9/2010/12/500x_afteryears.jpg]
Cecil and his awkwardly named son Ceodore are coming to PSP in the spring. Final Fantasy IV Complete Collection packs Final Fantasy IV and Final Fantasy IV: The After Years on one UMD.
V-Jump reveals this version of Final Fantasy IV sports new graphics, but not the cutesy 3D models from the Nintendo DS remake. Final Fantasy IV Complete Collection looks more like the 20th anniversary Final Fantasy remakes with character portraits in text boxes and modern spell effects.
Square Enix released Final Fantasy IV: The After Years on WiiWare in North America. It’s a direct sequel that stars Cecil and Rosa’s son (spoiler alert!) and shows what happened to many characters from Final Fantasy IV. This downloadable game also received a PSP facelift.
New and just for Final Fantasy IV Complete Collection is a story that links Final Fantasy IV and Final Fantasy IV: The After Years.

Yet another Remake of the Original FF II?
FF IV was a remake of FII...what are they going to call this remake?
I mean, I do like FFIV...actually...it's the ONLY Final Fantasy I like/played in all honesty.
However, I don't have a PSP, thus I won't be getting this game...besides it's one remake too many >.>
You don't need to remake a game more than once...after that...it kills it.
However, the idea of finding out the after story...what is exciting after Zemus was defeated anyways except mushy mushy love stuff? You can't have a good game w/o some super villian you have to beat in the end...otherwise it's just lame...

Only if they did more than just a graphical update. I tried replaying FF7 a few years back and it was unbearable.

FF4 is the first FF in the series I enjoyed, and the remakes were good... but I don't think we need another one. But I suppose it's better for Squaresoft to go with a safe bet rather than pouring resources into a new IP.

Nooo just graphical update for me. I'm too scared they'd mess it up. it's so amazing.

FF6 please. Way better than FF4. The only reason FF4 is so popular because it was the 2nd Final Fantasy to come out in the U.S. >:L

*cough* Final Fantasy IV isn't a remake of anything. It was just called Final Fantasy II when it came to the states, because Squaresoft cancelled the Final Fantasy II that was going to be released on the NES, and Squaresoft thought that Final Fantasy III would be too hard for us Americans. Then came FFIV being renamed as FFII. Squaresoft just skipped over Final Fantasy V, and went straight to Final Fantasy VI, which they renamed Final Fantasy III.
Wish they remade Final Fantasy V though. It has a light and mostly jovial story compared to the dark stories that all the other Final Fantasies had, a well done Job System, and the original version had TWO Megabosses, and then the other Megabosses Square Enix added for the remakes. So why no love? ;~;

I already have this on my gameboy.
But I guess it would be nice to see how the graphics would be like.
...Or I can finally buy Crisis Core instead.
