LOL SAME my teacher tried to cover it up when they got to that part, some of the students caught a glimpse, I didn't though I was like "wha.. what happened?"
When that sex scene pops up, every guy in the classroom became like gentlemen as they stood up as soon as Juliet was visible.

I still remember when Romeo showed his butt and everyone's all "oh eeeeew" I don't remember what the girl's reactions were though

What a twist!
This makes me want us to get G13 so we can hurry up and be closer to more Shakespeare things like Romeo & Juliet. :D

How was that done wrong at all? Mercutio was stabbed while Benvolio tried to break up the fight-- that's how the story went.

No one noticed him get stabbed though, and he didn't fall to the ground right after either. He continued making jokes and whatnot and then he falls, dies and everyone freaks out.The only person he tells is Romeo and even then it wasn't right after he was stabbed. He also dies after the Capulets leave, they weren't there to see him die.

...What? As soon as he's stabbed, he collapses and everyone notices. Also, the Capulets are supposed to leave after he's stabbed. That's why Romeo then goes out of scene to chase them afterwards.

Tybalt and Mercutio are fighting. Romeo intervenes and while he does Mercutio end up getting stabbed. They continue to insult each other and while everyone is laughing and whatnot, Mercutio pulls Romeo close to him and tells him he was injured when he intervened. He still does on insulting the Capulets though, and he climbs on top of some structure, I think it was the stairs, then he falls off them and dies. And this part is after the Capulets leave. Why would Romeo chase after Tybalt if he was already there when Mercutio died? He would have had to been away from the scene.

That's a different version from the one I read, then.

Probably so. This was one of the major points I was to write about English project last year because it's the point that leads to Romeo's banishment and ultimately the death of both Romeo and Juliet. But year, I went on youtube because I thought I might have remembered it wrong, but from some other movies the scene is the way you described it.

There are many many many different variations of R&J that i can't even begin to comprehend. I must have read/watched at least 10 different ones in my life time.
Surely the most actively known Shakespearian play.

I can't say it got me excited like the generation trailers from when we were actually following the storyline...but here's hoping...
