Have more work to do, find other things you want to do, uninstall Mabi, PLAY VINDICTUS.
That's why I quit.

I prefer Vindickus.

Getting hacked is a good way to quit though. I got hacked and felt like ****, quit for a while, but came back for friends. If you have nothing left for you in mabi, getting 'hacked' or sealing off your account somehow will get you away.
Oh thats good but I made it a vow that if I were to ever be hacked I'll quit, only because I don't want to deal with any kind of hacker. As well there would be trolling from my account, then friends telling me "Whats up with you calling me this?!"

Move all your valuable items and your combat equips on the right side of the bank and wait for your prem to end.

I'm afraid thats a bit too late for that. I don't remember buying service for this month....but good idea. Incase someone does manage to hack me, they would have to spend money to get the items ;D...

Don't give away stuff. Don't bother. There are plenty of people who gave away stuff and quit but still return to Mabinogi anyway.
(I question the motives of people who suggest to give away or drop stuff, but I'll just set this aside.)
What I suggest is to slowly absent yourself from Mabinogi. Do other things like watching anime, reading a book, etc. Don't make it a quiting process, make it such that Mabinogi becomes less important in your life and the other things in life more important (e.g. being with your family).

I got hacked, raged a bit, then lost interest.
Just... don't play. It's not that hard.

LOL, OKAY. If it wasn't hard not to play, than don't you think he wouldn't be playing? This is especially a problem with dedicated players, and over 2k sounds pretty dedicated in my book.
Telling yourself not to play obviously isn't enough. I've tried, and I still find myself on Mabi every once in a while, but I get really bored really quickly, so I don't think our cases relate very well at all. I don't agree with you dropping/giving away your things OR you deleting your characters/giving away your account. You've put a lot of hard work into your character(s) and spent money on this game.
Uninstall it. I know it's stupid, but that's a first step. Erase everything that has to do with Mabinogi from your computer, except screenshots and videos for memories if you want to. This way, you have to actually go through the download/install process if you want to play, and you should be able to make up your mind about playing or not.

I'm just going to tell you now that if you want to quit, this is NOT the forum to ask it on.

Well if you can't stop playing an
online game, even when you've made up your mind to, then there's something wrong there.
And I was a dedicated player too, I poured tons of money into mabi, and even when I didn't have access to mabi, I didn't go crazy.
If you can't stop altogether, just log on less and less.

Some people lack the control to. They have a computer-game addiction to deal with here. Which is something most people will not like to admit. And I don't think calling someone a computer-game addict will solve any problems.
What they need to do is to set some time for themselves to think why Mabinogi should be less important and other things more important.
