Well, I am sure most of you know that when you are gathering stones, you have a chance to get clay crystals.
Well, I figured it would be a nice addition if we could add ways to get crystals. Like we could get water crystals as an added bonus when collecting water or fishing in Lake Neagh.
Fire crystals from making campfires or burning things.
Wind crystals from, idk, breathing? *ran out of ideas* Oh or maybe hitting trees. You know, like wind whistling through the trees.
I would like to open this up to other people. Post opinions or ideas.

Just... buy them.

NPCS need to stop selling alchemy crystals.

Why can't I throw Fire Crystals at the monsters and watch them burst into flames?!

Im not asking for ways to get crystals easier. I thought it would be a simple but nicely thought up addition to the game, and I thought that this forum would be better to voice these opinions than say, the Nexon forums.

Uhm . . . don't water crystals already come from fishing along with other alchemy crystals. I thought I had caught some random alchemy crystals once at Lake Neagh. :what:

While that is true (I didnt look it up earlier), I thought it would be cool to be able to see where crystals come from. And not from NPCs as I am sure someone will say. Like actually see where the roots of alchemy is planted.

Some people are actually conservative, so I can understand where your idea is coming from. It's not really any different then gathering wool and making fabrics for cheap or common, despite it being in the store. Fabric can be made from sheep fuzz, so why can't alchemy crystals come from element related sources kinda of thing going on there am guessing.
Some people might say what player would make their own cheap fabric when you can buy it, but a lot of players do take the time to collect and make their own supplies still; including myself.

You are correct in your guess. however this is purely for the sake of fun, not trying to be conservative. Rather I am looking for a way to build more background into where things come from and not purely accept the fact that "they are there because npcs sell them and they are the gods of Spontaneous Generation"

It sounds like a fairly interesting concept, alchemy is still a fairly new type of power that's been introduced in recent generations and doesn't necessarily have the same recognition on it's source of origins. For example, magic has many books in the bookstores in Mabi that tell of origin, myths, or stories on it, but alchemy is just kinda there.

I'd be interested in a sort of "capture" alchemy ability.
Draw Circle -> Make campfire in center -> Activate -> Get fire crystals. # dependent on fire rank, capture rank, and fire placement.
Same thing could be done around a well, placed in a pond or whatnot or have water put in the circle for water crystals. Ores or around rocks for clay. In bad weather or on the balloon for wind.
...In all honesty, I just want a way to store my equipment in crystals. If I can put a golem in a crystal, why can't I cram my armour into one?

Or even easier, just throw the option into the already presented ovens for transmutation.
Bottled water->Water Crystals
Something Else-> Fire Crystals
Something Else Again 8D-> Wind Crystals
Although, the idea of attempting to put equipment into crystals makes me wonder if the crystal making success rate will be worth the risk of loosing the equipment. :what:

That sounds like a fun skill and some people would like that.
Also, what if you fail making an armor crystal?
