Some people refer to Mabinogi as a hidden P2P game, which turns a smaller base of people off from the game. Do you agree? State your opinions why.
P2P means Pay 2 Play. Think of WoW and the like.

Yeah, it definitely is.

In a certain way it is. However not as much as it used to be (back when there was no free rebirths).
The new cash shop system makes it even less so, since there's practically no point to paying for anything anymore except pets.
So I do agree that at one point it certainly was a 'hidden p2p', but these days not so much.
And I liked it a whole lot more when it was.

Korean Mabinogi back then was more a P2P
People without service can only play 2 hours a day

I don't think so anymore, because you have almost all the benefits now (RB,EGO,MAINSTREAM QUESTS,ETC). Services and Gachapons and stuff are more like add-ons.

You can get by just fine without spending a dime on the game (except it's advised to have at least 1 pet). As everyone else has mentioned the introduction of free rbs, free storyline quests, etc. makes it not much of a hidden p2p anymore. There are a lot of other f2p games that are much more dependent on the cash shop.

Its almost compleatly free, only reason i pay for service is storage now, but if you have 2 computers its not even needed cause of free services for shops and stuff.

About that pet, with the surveys, you should easily able to get a horse, if not any other pet.

When I first started, I purposely tried to stay under level 30. I didn't want my storage, bombs, and Nao service, among other things, to go away. Giving you all of these things and then taking it away and forcing you to pay for it is definitely hidden P2P. It's like a free trial.

I play free fine, I do free offers and trade for NX when I need it.
I only use it on pets, my combat is pretty decent for not weekly rebirthing.

Back when I started they didn't even have that.
Nao launched you head first into the world with nothing but hobo clothing and a crappy sword and you had to find your way. No free rebirths or anything. You had to pay money to progress in the game. These days it's a joke compared to back then, however back then we got our moneys worth when we bought service. These days the only thing worth paying for is pets.

Back in KR when you were limited 2 hours a day, and you couldn't do anything like transform, do mainstream, use spirit weapons, or rebirth without paying, yes, it was pretty much P2P.
How else would you play?
Once you hit level 50-ish without rebirthing even once, you hit that point where you're screwed. And you NEED that rebirth.
Back then, you didn't even get Eiry. And trust me, this means a world of difference, especially when all equips were x2 prices.
Now? I can keep up fine without services. Though to really "keep up in the game" money-wise, you still probably will want service.

Back then, I tried so hard to get at least level 60 so I can use the free 3day or 1week (I forgot ;~;) Nao so I can start and finish g1.

My point is still valid, though, at least for me. It was more or less a free trial. When many of the features I relied on became paid-only, it felt like a P2P. Now, it's even worse, with these stupid soul stones. I don't even dungeon anymore because of it. I don't mind paying $10 for unlimited revives, because I die A LOT. I refuse to pay per revive.

Same for me. May as well train in TNN and act like nao doesn't exist.
I never got to experience the "free trial" aspect of it since I was well past level 30 total when they added that. But that's basically what it is, a trap.
