And you figure out that you can only grab 5 things before the house burns down. Everything left in the house will be destroyed, no exceptions.
What 5 things do you save, assuming that fueled by pure adrenaline you can carry unbelievable amounts of weight?
And do you go for items with sentimental value or ones which are expensive?
I'd grab:
1) My laptop
2) My guitar
3) My Headset
4) My favorite jacket
5) No idea.
I'd go for a mix of sentimental value and, uh, 'expensive' value.
My laptop and guitar are both pretty expensive, but both have great sentimental value, so I'd definitely get them.
I love my music, and I can't bear listening to it through bad speakers/headphones, so I'd need my headset. Plus, it was pretty expensive...
My jacket has so much sentimental value, it's getting saved no matter what.
I can't think of a fifth item... It's probably be something of sentimental value, though. A letter from my girlfriend, or a book that I like, or maybe one of my oldest stuffed toys. I don't know, and I hope I'll never have to find out D:

I said items. We're assuming that your family and all living things in the house have the smarts to go 'oh ****, fire. Run away!'

I can't help but imagine you running out of a burning house carrying a TV, bed, fridge and laptop all balanced on top of each other in a comical kind of way, trying to prevent it from tipping over.

Hes the Mop, which means the Mop has special powers. I supposed special powers would include carrying all those out during a fire.
Probably more efficient if Mop use special powers to just get rid of the fire though.

Birdcage
Laptop
New DS
Giant stuffed tiger
bookcase
Even if were assuming that all living things are running off, i would prefer my bird IN the cage than flying off somewhere out the window.

First thing's first... I'd get my dog the hell outta there.
-Laptop
-Wii
-DS & Pokemon Pearl + Pokemon SoulSilver
-Wallet
Honestly, as long as I save my dog, I wouldn't care so much about anything else burning. They don't matter so much to me (maybe except for my Pokemon games...)

Assuming everyone else was out, I don't care about the rest. Sadly, when my house was on fire, I wasn't home and couldn't grab anything.
