  ok so .... i started a multiplayer server.. offline* or so it says.. now.. i can connect to the server myself.. but even myself the server .. it cant handle it ... anyway to speed it up? i got a fairly decent computer 2 gigs of ram and 512 or 1 gig of vid mem.. only thing i can think of that made it lag was me having steam open... Me or the host joining the own game... and idk how to control the size of the world.. >.>
  
  EDIT:me and my brother can play.. but it lags allot when we "EXPLORE" as its loading tons of new land.. but you would think for something of this games magnitude it wouldnt lag that much o well :/
  
  I also spent 50 mins making a Obsidian Portal ... but... Hey.. it doesnt even work in multiplayer QQ... oh and i found out just how big ghasts.. are.... THEIR HUGE ... compared to normal mobs about 5x bigger

  just went spelunking in a huge cave system. Thing had two spawners it's insane. It has caves all the way down to bedrock.

  God damn I'm awesome. Me and my friends are playing on a new server, and we all agreed to do stuff legit on it. Everyone was having hard luck at the start while I was rocking with my superior digging technique and had 20+ Diamond by the time everyone was still panicking to gather iron tools.
  
  As of now I have three small bases that have HUGE mine networks deep underground at the bedrock, and two systems that connect to caverns. I also got super lucky and found a zombie mob spawner outside in the open around the spawn and immediately claimed a base there (Took a few tries since I died after finding it since I found the chest super attractive and didn't notice a zombie poking me). Also later on found a spider mob spawner. Turned both of them into mob grinders so now I have an unlimited supply of string and feathers. The spider mob grinder was a pain in the ass to make though.
  
  Anyone got any tips for finding Lapis Lazuli? I rarely find any at the bedrock (Only two at bedrock so far) and found most of it in caverns (which I hate exploring due to risks).

  Caverns are your best bet for Lapis Lazuli, I haven't found them anywhere else. Just turn on peaceful if you get really scared.

  Have hmod, aka Hey0, or the newer form, bukkit.
  Have an awesome admin.
  Cuboid mod. Now.
  Have a portable cannon.

  Walked me through with baby steps, lol.
  I was so clueless.
  
  Sure was fun, though.
  First time seeing Lapis Lazuli, too.
  Too many Creepers :[
  I'm so afraid of the monster sounds. xD
  And I can't seem to hit enemies without them also hitting me. xD
  
  But it was fun.
  Peaceful mode didn't work, though. :p

  All the servers I've tried turn out terrible, if you guys would recommend me to a server that'd be great. Also, Tim, I started work on your underwater base, it looks pretty freaking fantastic. I used invedit though so don't hate pls. I'm also probably only going to use it for the entrance.

  Chop about 3-5 trees down for firewood, then look for some coal. After you get the coal and firewood then get to work on making a base.
