Mabinogi 2 is planned to come out sometime in Summer in Korea...I think. Well anytime this year, I know that for sure.

The only thing I'm rooting for is that our characters and pets transfer over.

I love their breast experiment in Mabinogi2, alot better than Vindictus, and also the running animation 8D Ill need to build a new comp for it.
Im guessing this would be a completely new game system, it wont be just like original Mabinogi nor original characters be transfered to Mabi2. Why would they update Mabi that could remove more than half the players with comp that cant support Mabi2. Personally it wouldn't be fun for me playing a new game from scratch.
Most of all, if there are no female Giant, im not playing >:C

I am absolutely NOT interested in a Mabinogi II. Mabinogi does not need updating (beyond tweaking the netcode, etc). It has the best combat system ever seen in an MMO. It has a rewarding progression system. It is free-form and open-ended. It rewards skill as much as it rewards stats.
If Nexon thinks generic hack-and-slashan will sell, more power to them. But unless Mabinogi II is nothing more than a reskin and graphical update with the same server data and client, I won't bother with it.

So nevermind if they might actually improve something by evolving the existing gameplay, if it's not a clone, you won't play it?
If you actually have to play a new game instead of starting something with endgame stats, skills and gear, you refuse to participate?
Closed-minded much?

you forget how awesome detaching limbs and robes attaching to your legs and ultra gelled hair, and weirdly bent legs, and skirts that never fold are (/failsarcasm)

Change for the sake of change is not good. Yes, the animation and graphics can stand to be improved, made more fluid, etc. But the core gameplay is about as good as you will ever find in a MMO, so why change it?

Nexon.
That's your explanation.

By outright refusing anything but a clone, you're limiting them to continuing a combat system that's already backed into a corner. The battle system as it stands really can't allow many new skills. Telling them you won't accept anything but more of the same really won't help a game last longer.

Closed minded much? I don't think the game is backed into a corner, or that the combat system is incredibly limited in what can be added to it. Individual generations may have added little or nothing in terms of skills to the repertoire of players, but so far I don't see any steam being lost. C1 brought us... well, the game. C2 brought humans things like final hit, but added two whole races, each with variations on existing skills or a bunch of outright new skills. C3 brought us... alchemy. Nothing really needs to be said on how much that added. C4 is already bringing us leap attack, lure of balad, and a host of passive skills (that do have a big impact on character build considerations).
I would not go so far as to say Mabi II has to be a prettier clone of Mabi I in order to play it, but I would like to see my existing characters allowed to progress and explore new stuff rather than having to start over. If Mabi II ends up being a simple (though 1-2 week long!) maintenance, then log in to a bunch of new goodies, I would be -thrilled- to go back to Tir, check out how it looks in the new engine, and try out a bunch of old content. I'd probably take one of my alts through the old generation quests to try them out, etc.
Having Mabi II be this would be the best of all worlds. A chance to try out things from a fresh new character's perspective, while not having to abandon something already worked heavily on.
In contrast, if Mabi II is nothing but a separate game, it would force everyone to only explore one of those options: become a newbie again.

G13 brings us three attacks. The only mastery with a notable affect on how the game is played is Lance Mastery (G14) in that it adds another hit to your normal combo (Magic masteries were going to reduce cast time before the job system was ruined).
Anyway, I've had about as much as I can stand of this thread. See you all in about six months when you realize how silly this was.
I'm willing to bet actual money on it, too.
Starting anew in a new game is to be expected. It's how sequels work.

Id love to have mabi more active. Atm we can't jump, we can't run, we can't sprint. Mabinogi fighting can be one of the best around but in terms of activity is dull. It's always the same rock, paper, scissors method
Sometimes i feel like my char is tied up with chains
