Should I quit Mabinogi now?

  I was hesitant to make this thread, but I feel like I need the help. I don't know if I can keep playing Mabinogi.
  
  The days of Generation Three are over and I just don't like the direction the game is going into. I'm not sure if it's the fact that they made everything or are making everything easier, the ridiculous turn the storyline has taken, or the advancements in combat that has my hard earned character left in the dust that not only make me want to quit Mabinogi, but drop MMOs forever. I feel as though Mabinogi has lost it's touch.
  
  Another thing I truly miss is my innocence. My head is filled with calculations, theories, tactics, and methods. I can no longer stand in awe at my character as he plays his lute to a default song. I feel like I've become a robot having to know every little bit of information to get me further in the game. I can't unlearn anything. The sense of adventure is gone.
  
  I've accomplished many of the things I set out to do. Sure I may not be the greatest player ever, but I've obtained what I wanted all along. I have nothing to look forward to as I see all the new content leaves my favored world in shadows.
  
  Many of my friends suffer the same feeling yet we're all hesitant to quit...
  
  I will eventually quit Mabinogi, but should I quit now before things get way out of hand in terms of skills, storyline, and enjoyment?

  If that's how you feel then quit now. You seem to be looking for a simple hack and slash. The days of G3 being gone only means that Mabinogi isn't easy as hell anymore. If it's getting too much for you then find a new game.

  The poll is just there so it's easier for people give their answer without actually posting. As for the results, it may or may not have a huge effect on my decision.

  How does it seem like I want to play a hack and slash? I explained that I feel like all the adventure and figuring out the complexity of the game was what I really enjoyed. Now I know it and all the new content just seems ridiculous to me. As for finding a new game it's hard to find something on par with Mabinogi.

  I have to agree with you on this one, Offspring. I think many players are feeling the same way, especially Alexina players at that. I miss the newb days where I could care less about what skill to rank or what enchant to put on my armor. Heck, I was happy flashing around my sasha robe and overjoyed at my guardian bow! It's really sad the turn Mabinogi has taken, even simple things like events have turned into gacha-whoring events. :x
  
  If you want to quit, i'd suggest now maybe because once you get to far and spend to much on the latest nx item or pet item, it's gonna be harder to quit. For me, I almost wanna quit, Mabinogi has lost it's spark for me, but with 25+ pets and 7 characters, it's harder to let go~ xD

  If your opinion is that the C4 content is all "ridiculous" (I take that to mean you feel it will not be fun), and mabi is no longer the fun game you enjoy then you should quit and find something else you will enjoy more than the new mabi.
  
  I am sorta curious though what it is about the new content that you find so offensive though?
  
  I can already tell that you and I are somewhat similar in that we enjoy the learning and building parts of gameplay of striving upwards, not the state of being at the top.

  2- take a break
  3- try to get friends that do stuff like daily/weekly harder dungeons
  for example you're 400+, just get a group of ppl and go do shadow wiz adv once a week
  4- start life skills, they're more fun than ppl think and are a nice break from grinding fest
  
  hell, im almost 1.5k, i know my dmg isn't the best since i dont have tons of gears with epic ES, but do you think i care?

  I have to agree on the life skills, pick up a trade maybe? I was bored out of my mind with the whole grind fest and I've completed all the generations (cept G8 which I never plan on doing >:I) but I manage to have fun just making potions, picking herbs, and tailoring~ XD Makes me feel more accomplished!

  Yeah, thats kinda how I felt before I quit. I liked the game before, where you can brag your ass off for having a claymore. Now, its a matter of how fast you finish your mainstreams, your enchants, etc.
  Sure, I'm great at these things, but its not fun.

  Because it seems you want a dumbed down game. If you want adventure, stop looking at the wiki for all the answers. Know how I did G1 through G12? (Except G8) I played the game without getting hung up on the right way of doing things. I used the wiki here and there when I was hopelessly stuck. I'm level 3K+, done all the generations, and I'm still finding new stuff to do every day. I didn't rank windmill or refine until I was over level 1000, I don't have the best weapons or equipments or the hottest clothing in the game, but so what?
  
  Like any game, the fun factor is what you make it. If you're going to sit there and complain about how you know everything now and how you don't like where the new content is going, then quit now. I beg you. G13 has a load of new stuff to play around with, and seriously, if you're not looking forward to any of it then why are you playing? Everyone looks forward to new stuff in the game.

  I'm sorry to be so harsh, but this thread is nothing but a cry for attention. Do something new in Mabinogi. If you don't like the game anymore why are you still playing?

  respect is not only for ppl that get r1 all combat or r1 all magic. Seriously i respect more someone like crush that got the whole life skill tab than someone who can hit 8k with a smash. Gold buyers can get their equips right away, get tons of rb cards and buy all spell pages. Now even if someone buys gold to do lifeskills, it still needs determination to r1 them

  Most people neglect the life skill tab when bored ;w; but it's fun really (it sucks gettin started, but once you get the hang of it you never wanna stop!)
