XDD I laughed my arse off while reading this thread xDD!! Shakespeare's plays being hard to understand due to the language used? I read Shakespeare's plays and understood it half a year after I learned English (at least to read lol), even though my knowledge of the language was pretty vague.
Everyone has right to their own opinions, but degrading something that's thought to be some of the greatest plays in history is kind of....eh :S Saying "I don't like it" is very different from "It isn't good". It's like when people see a Picasso for the first time and go "Wtf is that?O.o", I'm one of those type of people, but I do know that it's me the one who can't truly appreciate its true splendor.
So yeah, back when we were reading Shakespeare in class, many people went to sleep or started chatting, but well, those people weren't very bright to begin with (not that I'm bright, but I like to read stories) :S.
That's all, sorry if it seems like I'm defending Shakespeare, but it annoys me when people who can't understand something comment about them as if they weren't worth a dime (too many people at school regard manga and anime as childish just because they haven't try them out or did it but couldn't understand >.<!).
/rant end o3o
I never said it wasn't good.
I just don't like it.
Only reason why I called it lame was due to the fact that it's in Mabinogi and I don't feel it belongs here, plain and simple. If I wanted Shakespeare I would go and read the damn thing.

Maybe this will be your second chance to learn to appreciate it. :)

Maybe. In book form it's kind of dull.
In game form, I may like it. We'll see.

What if Morrgian didn't create us at all. If you remember back to the talk that Nuahda had with Irind they were talking about the Milltian's short life span and how the Gods created us. So if the gods created us as a whole then maybe Morrgian doesn't have the power to destroy us alone.

Koreans have a somewhat hard time discerning what a "Tragedy" is in the case of Romeo and Juliet

Good point, I almost missed that lol.
But yeah, there are many things that don't belong in mabinogi like clothing, hp potions, pets, etc. This doesn't make mabinogi lame, does it?;o

Oh jeez, I was hoping Morrighan's paranoia about us would have bee cleared up in G12... Seriously, it seems almost sloppy storytelling. What was the point of Nuadha showing up and saving her *again* if she didn't learn anything from it?

She did learn something from it.
That even Nuadha can't take you down.

I didn't really see the Shakespear stuff as lame or (also didn't expect it to be purely Shakespear) I saw it as more like players discovered the new land of Avon and they're invited to participate in the plays
and the actual story kinda happens within or behind the scenes (and yes I am really late into this thread but I guess I just now felt like adding to it) xD
also curious to see what they do with Romeo + Juliet, and Macbeth because those were the ones I read and stuff

Then why the hell does she think she can? We've seen her fighting, if you can call it that.(
I actually died 3 times in her RP because lolnorunning)
IMO the thing that makes milletians superior to gods in mabi, is the ability to run.

Morrighan is too cool to run.
Offtopic: I think Morrighan should have had black eyes instead of white to fit the crow/raven theme.

Morrighan is involved towards the end of G13.

Never mind my previous post, after looking at the topic name "G13 Mainstream: More than just a lame Shakespheare Play?", it's obvious that your "I never said it wasn't good." is fake. Next time I'll hear from you something like "Bruce Lee sucks" or "I survived being hit by Chuck Norris". The first time I saw your sig, I thought it made sense since Morrigan has been betraying the Milletians for a long time, but after you created this topic, it just seems like you fail to understand the complexity of Mabinogi's storyline (there isn't any....or any worth mentioning lol).
Feel free to tell me that your thread topic doesn't say that Shakespeare's play suck. o3o

Okay so the title of the thread was misguided.
So what?
If you have a problem with it, you didn't need to post.
I was a bit peeved when I made the thread.
I'm willing to give Shakespeare a shot. So give it a god damn rest will ya.
That goes for anyone else who wants to stab at the title of my thread and my preferences.
