You know, I have to agree that there are some people who, in their eyes, see themselves strong but yet die often in basic. They may be good in alby or ciar, where the monster's hp is lower.
But on the other hand, people who claim to be weak seem to be absurdly strong.
You're forgetting that ranking trans makes it last longer. Longer>stronger

The above statement is completely false.

I think a lot of strong people just keep to themselves\groups, also like people already said, Basic isn't a good judge of skill. Most of the really skilled players I know wouldn't run anything lower than Adv.
And while I die a lot in Basic dungeons I do much better in Adv. and Hard dungeons because I take those more seriously. Though I wouldn't consider myself strong to any extent...
(I am actually unusually weak for my level due to development choices.)
I've seen Kenero, Phunkie, Ailyene, and a bunch of others who are amazingly strong on these forums pass by me while just standing around the same spots all day so I'm definitely seeing a lot of pros out there.
One day I'll have the courage to say "Hi" to you people in-game someday... :T_T:

I don't know if I mentioned it but I can also go through advanced missions with slight ease as well(though not at record speeds).

My guild is 3/4ths newbies and 13- year olds. It's probably just lot's of new players have been joining Mabi, skipping Generations, and such, while not knowing how to do things correctly. It's something like that ><;;

There are always weak people around. People are still joining Mabinogi. If I'm in Tir, I'll never fail at running into someone who's new enough to not know what transformations are. And of course, many of them will go to where the quests tell them to, so they'll end up in places like Taillteann doing their basic missions.

More content/advertisements = more new players :what:
Or maybe because you' are doing basic missions instead of high-level ones that the more advanced do

i dont know why you'd judge new players when you're only slightly better than them, in your words.
no offense, but you're not that pro.

I don't think players in general have gotten weaker, it's just that not many of them actually want to play the game seriously. No one wants to dungeon with new people either. I can't really blame them, the idea of "observe and learn" is pretty much nonexistent nowadays. How many times have I had my combos ruined be a weak smash or wm and had my little friend die because they attempted to save someone with double the defense they have from getting tickled? Sure we've all made mistakes but learning from them is becoming a bit rare.
EDIT: [I do help any newbies to the game that asks though, don't get me wrong. I have about 3 or 4 fairly new people on my F-list who ask me questions or for my assistance and I gladly help. It's just that progress made is few and far between. Even the basic bolt + counter takes a while for them to learn. I'm not a great teacher or anything but I don't think it's my fault when I attempt to show them how to firebolt + counter on a cyclops only to have them wm the darned thing and die! No where did I say to wm!]
Might have to do with gold buying too. Y'know, attempting to buy your skills. I know a giant probably not even half my level with all sets of giant M armor all properly dyed, four broadaxes, and several mil in the bank. Why? Because he buys gold, scams and fully admits to it. He looks like he can do something pretty big with that broadaxe ego of his but I doubt he can survive Rabbie norm without his armors.

Just having trans doesnt mean u are powerful
A lot of people lve meet go straight to champion without lvling the other skills that actually increase str/dex/etc
Kinda sad really, they want to be *pro* but all they do is just change the outside appearance
That's what i did.
Never regretted it for a second. Made me rely less on trans for "godly" damage.

I think the more the gap widens the harder it is for people to get used to each-other. People around my level will notice the difference between KSing me and saving me, others not as much. I guess you can teach by establishing a few things about yourself before starting the mission/dungeon and hope that helps in some way.
As for the trans thing: Ranked Fury of Connous to r1 first before ranking anything else. Weeee.

To me, dying seems to be normal in this game.
Until the point where I have no problems going anywhere I want.
Dying a few times is ok, but dying all the time does trouble me somewhat.
