It'd be nice to have a separate channel where we could advertise our buys and sales. I'd like to use the party announcements to actually join parties. Plus, the random ]'s and /'s in the middle of words are a nuisance. What do you guys think?

We already have a "Trade" channel.
It auto-advertises Shop Title, Description, and Location.
But because it isn't visible while public-chatting, everybody misuses Dungeon Party requests instead.

Some people don't have the premium service to show up in that channel.
EDIT: One thing I did like about Gaiaonline: The marketplace. Easy to search for cheapest prices, easy to buy things from because everything can show up in one place without people having to go everywhere to look for something. Like a less annoying version of housing. 8D

Forums are always good. Official ones or busy fanbases (we use yydzh here for the more expensive item trades).

I wish everyone could have a house to sell from.

But that would cause Nexon to lose money! Now why would we want to do that, I mean Nexon treats us so well and never let's us down!

I would rather enjoy having Runescape's Grand Exchange :blood:
Everyone could easily sell without having to pay real money, and the removal of Bank Fees

Service would still earn money if it is attractive enough.
The point of service right now is for nao revival, daily gifts (unfortunately, sucks to be NA on these aspects) and housing.
Now the point of housing is to be able to sell things without being online all the time - just the way those shop elves work in Maplestory. Another huge plus of housing is the ability to travel anywhere fast with return coupons and house key - without needing to worry about expired flyers.
I know that it is a privilege and not a right for people to get merchant shops without service right now (refering to free beginner service and beginner's access to using merchant shops to sell goods), however it will greatly benefit everyone to at least have a way to sell goods without service and afk - the way free market in Maplestory works before shop elves were even introduced.
The trouble with Mabinogi is that it is an extremely troublesome game to play in the long run. Explaining how difficult it is to get new people to play and then stay in the game for a long time. People should be enjoying a game, and not made to do so much hard mindless work. Leave the hard work to the other issues in real life.

That's also what killed the game, and that's why free trade is being restored. Herpderp.

Thos ]'s and /s are part of the actual party thing.
But does it REALLY mean anything?

that was just one of the things that killed it.
The wild being the main thing.

They should just fix the trade chat set up so it's actually bloody useful. So that you can actually have personalized ads like party ad and have shop ads as well as it was intended. In my 3 years playing Mabi i have NEVER seen anything in the trade chat appear. Ever. Useless chat imo, they should revamp it.

Making trade channel work in such a way that players prefer to use it for advertising trades would be a huge step in the right direction. Agreed.
Housing as a means of selling stuff is incredibly convenient. If -everyone- used it, everyone would win. Buyers could sort same item sold by different players and find out the best price more easily, sellers could conveniently find how much others are selling for to price accordingly, and both buyers and sellers are pleased that goods are sold indepentantly of the seller being online or in a particular channel. Furthermore, load across channels would balance better seeings as the center of commerce would not all clump to a single channel, as it would primarily be in the housing channel.

As far as all the little hassles of fees, licenses and so on goes... I'm fine with them. Everyone deals with them, so having to pay them personally is not a disadvantage. While I am sure some players would like it simpler, and would prefer to get the full value of their sale, and/or not pay extra for check fees and so on... those little things help make the marketing process a but more like rl marketing. The complexity and fees help keep casual players from dabbling to heavy into the game of marketing, while letting those who do enjoy managing finances do so. As such I think the various fees and things should remain.

Isn't there some sort of a Kiosk system implemented in G13/14? or is that limited to premium service as well?
Either way, using party ads for selling and buying is a necessary evil that I wish would just be reworked soon... It's kinda hard already to chat with people if you're near a bot, party ads make it so much worse, but if you don't use them yourself and don't have a house you'll never get anything done.
