i used some buddhist reponse since the very scenario you're suggesting is what caused the world to be in AD.
and (not) coincidentally, jesus and christianity in general is based off the sun and stars.
though, in this day and age? history never fails to repeat itself.

I feel like you are ignoring the main question... if God was a being we could touch.
Did you read what I posted?
It should not be understood literally.. and it's a quote.

To me, since God surpasses death, he can't really "die" according to our terms.
That aside, I believe the means to kill divine beings are way out of reach of human understanding and is impossible for humans to obtain.

Though you gotta wonder, why was religion created? Only thing that comes to mind is control. The Aztecs had managed to get people to sacrifice themselves to the gods, if they could get them to practically commit suicide then what won't they do?

it's because of human nature. it's very easy to make people believe things that are made up or isn't true. this has been proven in studies
just consider things like cults, where normal, intelligent people have killed themselves for the sake of their god tht they believe in.
we are innately weak and look to others to put blame and hope in because we are not strong enough to do it ourselves, which is why every system we function is in hierarchal

God doesn't take **** from humans.
Take tower of Babylon for example. I mean, sure thats not the true reason why multiple languages exist, and sure we can all communicate via world wide translators now, but the point is, God keeps his security pretty tight.

I'd guess God would personify himself as some lowly person just to see how people treated him, like Zeus did way back in the old days.
I think he just did that to get with all the girls
