I'm a top level lazy person. I finish the majority/all of my work in classes so that I can slack off when I'm outside of school. I've been using the analogy of "I really don't like working overtime," to explain why I do this. My grades are solid A's and B's.
So, the chances of this stopping when I hit college is..?
Thats the attitude I took to college and now I'm having to have to redo the whole thing but with ten times the original effort required.
Try college while working. Ridiculously difficult when you have no extra time.
I have like an hour to myself at the library every morning now and thats it.
Work, work, work. And starting this summer it'll be work, work work, classes. And I still won't have enough saved up so I'll have to start taking out loans and banks will harass me for the rest of my life.
All sound advice from OP, make sure to suck up to your professors, see counselors, get student tutors, organized study groups, etc etc.
BUT, the problem is, I already knew all that before going into college the first time. It just really didn't strike me the serious importance of the idea until it was too late. For this I do suggest you start making life style changes. Doesn't have to be big, but get a part time job, learn not to sleep in, and keep a schedule.
Despite my usual desire to sleep for 16 hours well into 1PM every day, I now wake up at 6:30 AM and go jogging for an hour to keep myself in the momentum. It hurts my legs and its really against my sluggish nature, but it does help me get into gear for the rest of the day.
