I don't know... They're basically giving any non-melee class the ability to have infinite MP without penalty at this point. Yay, mabi is now over~
Its been over since G4.
Some people just realize this later.

Really, tell me of a way to produce enough HP/MP efficiently without penalty prior to this? Gathering herbs from a pet took a ton of time.

These changes are amazing.
I love how in one breath the same person can espouse just how important windmill/refine is, and parrot off the advice that you absolutely must train these skills first before you are allowed to make your character any way you want... and in the next breath -complain- how making these skills any easier lowers their e-peen.
If something is absolutely required to play the game properly, then it should be readily available to everyone. It doesn't matter if you or I think the skill is not hard to train, but if the training requirements are what put people off the skill, then the training methods are a problem. And a basic, easy to train skill is not something to stroke your e-peen over to begin with. Utterly ludicrous.
These changes are amazing, and show a level of understanding of their own game that completely surprises me from even KR nexon/devcat. In particular I have long said that, material costs aside, the training methods for potion crafting and herbalism are beyond sadistic, especially considering the rewards for doing them. I think between the herb farms and these small tweaks to the training methods, the effort put in more closely match the benefit of the skill.
As for the large MP supply... if you hadn't noticed, magic was the red-headed stepchild of the game for many of the chapters. It wasn't really until g9 that magic became all that amazing, until then using magic involved spending expensive mp/mp pots to do an attack that was a lot slower than WM, and plain out killed stuff in a slower time. Even with rk1 thunder/fireball it was not possible to match the clear-speed of a strong WM'r in ciar/adv, while a melee/range person was useful against all mobs in places like Peaca. Magic was only useful against the wight/ghoul type enemies which melee could still fight. So between the best exp-grind places in the game to the most difficult challenges in the game... magic was mostly pointless. Further our playstyle got nothing of important from our stat, INT, once you had a fairly basic amount of it from ranking the basics. Gear didn't really do much to help our offense either... it is pretty telling that the only useful enchant for a mage back then was will o' the wisp for the +10 mp. To put that in perspective imagine if your melee or archer character had no use for str/dex beyond 100 or so, didn't get any damage from enchants, and was basically stuck doing only skill ranking to get better? And further, each skill in your "class" was completely separate and none really enchanced the other. And the only thing you could do with enchants on your gear is boost SP.
As it is now, there is finally content where magic is actually at least on par with other playstyles in terms of efficiency, largely due to shadow missions high-hp opponents as opposed to G3 era's seeming emphasis on pd opponents. With g13 we finally have a use for our stat, and are finally getting enchants that make us decide on things like offense/fuel/defenses. With the likely release of personal farm making mp plentiful, there will finally be a permissive style of play that lets players enjoy playing with magic, rather than make comments like "I refuse to touch magic because I hate dealing with mp potions."
This director is a genius. I feel he is taking steps to fixing so much that is wrong with mabi, and it excites me greatly to see how much better this game will become under him. I hope his success will keep him as director for c5!

wow, this looks really good. I especially like the attention given to life skills, it seems like nexon is buffing them up a lot.

I guess ranking golem is gonna be really easy now... Unless white herbs aren't available as farm patches.

Yes you do. they are mined in Sliab Cuilin and/or any difficulty of the shadow mission Stones of Sliab Cuilin. Costs you nothing but the repairs fees for your pickaxe and the time spent mining them.
What does this have to do with g14 though? they've been free since g9.
