I'm really depressed now. I've spent so much effort, and nothing comes out of it... Ever had this happen?
I found a r2 Enchanter in Dunbarton, and he was kind enough to provide a free enchant service. My goal today was to get at least ONE Spike Broadsword. Here's what i had...
7 Stamp Items
17 Blacksmithed Broadswords
1 Spike Enchant
He failed on FOUR!!! Yes, FOUR!!! of the stamp burning, leaving me with only 3 stamp enchants to work with. that was on a 71% Burn rate!!
Next, Trying to oppress the sad, tragic loss of 4 precious ES, I requested the enchants.
Enchant Results at 36%
First Stamp: FAIL > HUGE FAIL > FAIL > HUGE FAIL > SUCCESS
Second Stamp: FAIL > SUCCESS
Third Stamp: HUGE FAIL > HUGE FAIL > FAIL > SUCCESS
So basically, Nexon and DevCat are idiots when it comes to % rates. They make burning seem like 40% when it's actually 71, and make the enchants seem more like 20% when it's 36%. What kind of bullcrap is that?!
Next, with the lack of Stamp items, it was time to enchant the Spike.
Spike Results:
FAIL > FAIL > HUGE FAIL
...:shock2:
Lost a total of 1.3M today.... Now i'm feeling really pissed at Nexon and feel like ragequitting.
Of course, I had that when I accidentally put AR2 after AR8 instead of AR9, but I had NX that time =.=
I guess this concludes my rant. Thank you for your kind attention in reading this.
P.S. I'm constantly buying Stamp Items in the Tarlach Server. Please note Joyjason
Also, I'm open to any other advice concerning this issue
Ex. "you should use another enchant like ____"

I've failed 15 burns in a row with over 50% burn rate.
But at the same time I've succeeded 20 burns with over a 50% burn rate.
I've never believed in the "Devcat screwed over %" story, it's just a percentage chance calculated in a computer.
No one would go out of their way to program a totally different success rate into it.
Raven is MUCH cheaper to make than Spike... I'd rather save my money to spend on better darkness enchants or etc.

My guildmate also recommended Raven. Do you think the smaller Max dmg is worth the higher success in enchanting it?

I don't think devcat messed up percentages, it's just following the law of large numbers~

The only problem with Raven is that you're not always gonna get the 8 damage. =X Not to mention Spike is +14 damage once you get the kickers (depending on whether you're meleeing or ranging) but for a cheap alternative Raven is very good yes. Oh another thing though, with spike items, your item will always have full dura since if the enchant fails you lose the entire item, thus the only possible spiked item is a full dura one. With RAven, you (1/2 chance) might lose dura before it succeeds, so take your pick between those in that department. Me personally, I'd rather go ahead and go with the spike but that's just me. It is frustrating yes but worth it in the end if it succeeds.

believe me, it doesn't. they really got a crap random number generator, probly because the game is so old.
about the enchanting issue, you should always have more than not enough. like, when i spike stuff, i usualy try to have 6 stamped for when i'll try spike.

Well, 70% chance to burn is still 30% to fail. Makes sense. From the sounds of it, you got the last 3 stamp stuff to burn.
Maybe use Ancient Powder for spike next time? Or not.

Of course it's a random number generator, with the average value being the stated percent.
This is hardly high tech.
Just because they give a stated average, there's no reason to assume an equal or narrow distribution.

Ouch dude, you're unlucky >.<
I've had my fair share of goodluck and badluck too, extremely lucky with spike, bought a stamp sword for 350k and randomly pressed use on a spike enchant I got, it was like 10% or something and it worked, the next spike broad I made was goddess stamp, I had another spike es and takk was in town, 34% or something so I gave it a shot and success haha.
After that I was burning with Queen, failed a goddess burn, shadow hunter, revenger and some healer enchants or something. >.<
I've had terrible luck with avenger, I'm considering just buying a guildies one for 4.5mil.
You might want to save up the money instead, Crea and Candy a few months ago were selling spike broads for 1.5mil and had like 2 or 3 each.

I'd rather make my own, since it's really not that expensive. The worst part is the "losing money" part if you fail...

no, it's not all fails.
at 56% i'm only failing mythril at, oh, about three times out of forty.
i'm not kidding...
[edit] nexon just fails percentages.
seriously, think about edern and his constant slip-ups.
he's chugging vales fires, isn't he...

Recently myself and a few other enchanters I know have noticed an increase in fail rates while enchanting.
