Thats a pretty common doing among players, and i have to say
its not entirely good.
If you spam, theres a high chance Palalas will overlap, neglecting the effect. Thats why even when the flash goes off BL still moves and atack. Its not glitch/bug/lag. Also The radius of palala is BIG, but not INFINITE. You aim poorly and palala will land behind an object, or too far, or behind the wall and it will not work.
Now, if you look at it from the efficency hardcore/pro/obsessed player point of view, you're wasting seconds by not timing the palalas, if you throw too early you're not taking full advantage of them. And if you fail to flash cause of poor aiming you're most likely to kill some members, members who trusted the flasher to cover their FULL combos. (Everyone knows by now full combos are risky to perform with this boss). Needless to say that doing all of the above affects directly clearing time, wich for some few its the difference between life and death.

So I joined a party that actually did this, and it is extremely effective until you run out of palalas. So, if I haven't already repped you for this guide, here's another one for good measure. >>

Lately I've noticed he has a tendency to do a non-smash gliding fury if he's coming out of another attack. I say tendency because it was about 4 out of 5 gliding furies that I regular guarded against with great success, only to have one throw me off since it was a smash.

I really don't understand why people aren't bringing palalas at this point over spears. Hair is so cheap now that it simply is not worth it to go for the breakoff...and it is much better to finish the run faster. I'm finding out you can literally spam them and have no need for accuracy, as it hits him from anywhere.
It only takes one decent spear-thrower (or 2 to be safe) to take out his hair. In some of the better runs I've had (and without the football) we only used 18 Palalas before the boss was dead, or near dead. So 6 people with Palalas is overkill.
That being said, I usually just throw my Palalas at the middle of the map if I don't throw it when he's being locked it place. I never miss unless he's invisible while it detonates.

I have never used a palala, ever.
Also, hair was at 5k each yesterday. Considering you need 24 for a set, that's still over 100k just for the hair. And then there's the blood.

In all of the times I've done that raid, nobody ever broke off ANYTHING from him (although I'm assuming the hair is the only breakable one) so I don't even have the shadow of that title... :(

The run gives you 14-24k depending on what extras your party does. Even if you get the minimum amount of gold, that's only 8 runs before you have enough to afford all the hairs for the set. The only thing that should be a problem to buy is the blood, as it is still relatively expensive, however with this 'organized palala spam' method BL will take you no more than 8 minutes a run (and that's if you mess up a palala or someone dies more than once).
I probably should have clarified what I meant by 'spam', I was speaking of it in terms of bringing a lot of them not throwing a lot at once. If you do indeed do something like Top to Bottom FX (where X is a number) to say that you are out, then BL is possibly the easiest raid yet. If that stupid football spawns, I've seen a run go as fast as 4 minutes.

This post covers everything that annoys me about BL runs (except for when people run right into BL while he's in an attack animation...but what can you do about that? lol).
Great post. As a Scythe Evie User, I always blink under him whil he's in the air...never understood why evie's always stood outside. One thing to note though is that you have to make sure you adjust the camera angle to make sure you're DIRECTLY under him. I've gotten owned by fireballs because I'd blink and think I was directly under him (with teh camera behind my back) only to find that i was a step or two outside. But yeha...Lanns and Scythe evie's have no excuse for not being under him and getting a smash #5 while he's launching his fireballs.
Great write up on the use of Palala's too. +rep'd

Break off works when he's spinning in the air.
