Remember when Maeby took the Elsinore Sword on an alt? And we all seemed to shrug it off? But really, that's actually a pretty huge deal. Because this is an instance of a GM using their powers as GM to attain an in-game advantage not available to other players. This is what is referred to as "GM corruption", as it is assumed that GMs will not abuse their powers.
In this case, a GM spawned gloves that would take tens, if not over 100 million in gold and months of time to create, and then took the most powerful melee weapon in the game. Now, while this probably wasn't of ill intent, this brings up the question - if a GM is willing to brazenly use their powers to "cheat", then what are the GMs doing that they're not blatantly showing? After all, we do not know who is a GM in Mabi on a given alt. Maybe a player is using GM powers to give themselves rare items or train skills, etc. Maybe they're acting on behalf of other players. The problem is, there is almost no way we can know.
I'm not making any specific accusations, but I am bringing it up as a possibility. In my view, a GM should never use their powers in a way that can even be remotely be construed as corrupt. To me, that alt taking Elsinore was at best, improper.

Pretty sure it was just a test to see if there were any problems.

1) New one spawns every day in real life.
2) The gloves are already hard as f*ck to make so nobody will be getting more of the swords soon.
3) It was on an alt to test it apparently.
4) We've confirmed the alt as Maeby GM's alt.
I think you're overreacting. It would only have been a problem if it was a real player packet editting, but the GM Xfire chat confirmed otherwise.

that's why there is alpha and beta testing of the patches, so in a sense that should have been done BEFORE it came out publically.
Technically, this is an outrange :S

It's not like anything is going into the economy. It's not like anyone is hurting anyone else. It's not like the GM is actually going to use the sword. It's not like anyone would have been able to pull the sword on that day, anyway. It's not like it matters.

Nexon NA isn't smart to begin with.

Probably because it isn't a big deal to begin with.

Do you think someone was really going to get the sword the FIRST DAY it came out?

Corrupt?! All the GM did was took the sword that respawns to either test it out and/or just show off with it. The GM can even just put another sword back during a maintenance if it didn't respawn. You are just overreactting.
Doesn't sound like you ever played a game where GMs not only make the best armor set with almost impossible "upgrades", and gave those set to an entire guild before. That is called corrupted GM. No, this wasn't Nexon.

You couldn't even get some of the materials yet because they weren't even out. And even if that was too happen the items are too rare

I used to say stuff like that but I learned not to underestimate the people on the internet.
The boundaries of reality does not apply. These people defy logic.
Need to do a quest that makes you wait 3 days? Someone will find a way to make it work in 2.

Well on a side note, Nexon GMs are really stupid too.
In Combat Arms, they wouldn't be able to tell the difference between a hacker and a skilled player because they suck in general at FPS, just like most of the CA community.

The GM could spawn two swords of Elsinor, with 74/5 upgrades (when normally 0 are possible) and make them shoot lightningbolts out her ass if she wants.
A GM is not a player. If they do actually play the game, it is as meaningful to them as playing solitair or minesweeper. They don't have to grind levels, use passes, or even worry about money/ap whatever. There is no corruption here. They are employees of Nexon, doing their job. If that job happens to be "marketing" to let players see what the item looks like equipped, so they get hyped and want one of their own, so be it. If it involves testing the item out, to make sure that this implementation in this sever worked... so be it.
Really now. Even if somehow some massive guild had a rk1 tailor and a legion of newbies/pros all set of farm sheep/theatre missions like mad to get one of these gloves on the first day, and a sword... there are 6 more they could have picked from. And if, even more absurdly, somehow 7 of these gloves were all made on the first day, and one unlucky pro was unable to get his/or her sword I'm sure GM maeby would have given hers to that player, or they could wait a few hours for 7 more to respawn at midnight.
There really is no freaking big deal here.

@thread title
Because not everyone thinks the game is serious business. It was a test, no player could get the glove so early ingame and thus it didn't affected anybody
If they did it during maintenance they would never know if the sword respawned 24 hrs later, unless you wanted mabi servers to be offline for 1 day just for them to test the sword part
