  1a. While the Clover Pig trades an extra 4% chance of obtaining base herbs for an extra 4% chance of obtaining white herbs, it has significantly less mana and holds less herbs (100 vs 120).
  2. I have some questions about Frozen Blast.
  2a. What is Frozen Blast's angle of effect?
  2b. Are (wind/hurricane) cylinder upgrades additive or multiplicative?
  
  Freeze Effect Zone (2-3) increases the width by (9-18). If the angle of effect was presumably 60° would it then increase to 78° (additive) or would it increase to 70° (multiplicative)?
  
  The hurricane cylinder's R+6 type upgrade increase the freezing range by "+30". If the maximum range was previously 600 units would it then increase to 630 (additive) or 780 (multiplicative)?

  I would guess they would be additive, since majority of values in mabi are additive, with the exception of % values(i.e. shock title's 4% damage increase) and literal multiplicative values(i.e. x2 repair rate).

  Go for the Gnu, the Pig gives Antidote Herbs instead of Mandrake so it'll be more helpful if you want it for ranking the Herbalism skill... although it doesn't hurt to have both in the long run. Mana isn't really an issue, though, as long as you can get either pet to 50 MP past its old age it should be fine.
  
  Solea is pretty much where you'll spend your time if you seriously want to gather herbs or rank Herbalism, but pets are convenient for White Herbs and accessibility. Herbalism rank doesn't seem to affect success % or gathering time from a pet, as far as I know.
