Ok well my mom said my cat was " Coughing " and when I got home I witnessed him throw up some white foamy stuff. He ate this morning doesn't seem he has any feeding issues but I'm scared something is wrong he hasn't got any shots so can any " Diagnose " my cat? My sister has a beta fish and the tank is like a 2 gallon tank and has really murky water I just caught the cat drinking some could that possibly be it?

Dude not cool, don't freak people out like that.
Don't cats just do that when their sick? You might wanna take them to the vet. Plus are they really old?

If the white foamy stuff didn't smell like anything other than cat-breath, then it was probably just saliva that turned to foam when the cat started coughing. It probably got something small stuck in its throat, like hair or food, and then worked up a foam trying to get it out.

Yeah, and who knows what got in its throat from the water lol. But if it keeps on happening maybe you should investigate more...I hope it winds up being okay.
And wait, do you have an open fishtank AND a cat?

It might have an upset stomach from the water which caused the vomiting, but you should still take it to a vet.

Probably cause I just found about this today and I've had him for 5-6 weeks.

You complain to my sis it's not my fishtank, I put a paper on top it doesn't have one of those air giver thingies so he constantly needs to go up and gather air so I can't put glass there o_o.
@mike: I can't take my cat to the vet currently cause my mom is busy maybe when my dad comes back from New Mexico? He's supposed to come home soon.

Well if your cat is 14 weeks old, then you're gonna be taking it for its rabies shots soon. Just mention it to the vet then.
It sounds like it only happened once, so if your cat is fine after this long, then it should be fine until the visit.

Thanks guys I feel a lot better I wonder how much a rabies shot would cost o_o.

Kueh wrote on 2011-01-27 00:03
The shot itself is about $8, but if your cat hasn't been to the vet before, registering it costs a fee, and so does an office call (usually).
Depending on what the vet charges, the trip will probably be anywhere from $20-50
