Again, sounds like a glitch that happened to just you then. Because as I described above, I have never had this happen. Ever.
Just me, and everybody who tested it out after reading my thread.
If it's never happened to you, odds are either
1) you did not unsheath it long enough for the decay tick to pass
2) you used it, and had the usage decay eclipse the time decay
3) you weren't afk long enough for a noticeable amount of decay to build up

Changing channels no longer eats 0.001 durability on every item (as of G12S2). [s]It's possible they also removed decay build up on auxiliary weapons, but I doubt that.[/s]
Tested it and it still exists. Though I didn't get proof because I didn't notice I switched to auxiliary on accident and therefore didn't take a video.
Equip Pet Stick > Put it on Secondary > Afk for X hours > Switch it to active > Watch it die
