It's not excessively powerful

its more of a supplement to other attack types.

Only a few use Alchemy for raw damage beyond Golem Summoning. Most people use it as a supplement, such as Life Drain or Barrier Spikes. I guess, in that since, it's "powerful."

Maybe talking about Water Cannon. Water Cannon is very powerful, especially at close range. Maybe Smash ish power?

Yeah, that's all it is, not really all that. The only great thing about alchemy to me are the barrier spikes, but you have to work twice as hard just to make the darn things. You can't buy them like everything else. REALLY sucks. Barrier spikes are heavily affective at a high rank though.

Powerful in its defences?

Alchemy skills are powerful because they can do so much compared to just ordinary fighting. You can create barriers and summon stuff and shoot water at your enemy! :thumb:
But really, Alchemy is powerful, but it's drawbacks are the crystals needed to make to perform Alchemy skills, and the fact that those skills give absolutely no stat boost whatsoever. Maybe a stamina point here and there.

Since Alchemy damage is not dependant on stats, why would they give stats?

Everything great about Alchemy:
1. Water Cannon is BEAST.
2. Barrier Spikes can not only put a wall between you and the enemy, but damage them when they try to get through. You are the only one who can shoot through. You can build more spikes and layer yourself for full protection.
3. Attacks like Sand Burst and Frost have cool special traits which can be very useful. You can really find good uses for them, especially for organized party play.
4. Ammo isn't that expensive.
5. Golems can be a great alternative for characters who don't have good melee abilities.
Things I don't like about Alchemy.
1. Needs preparation. A smart player would stock up at least a hundred crystals, and that takes some time to get (not to mention inventory).
2. Doesn't have the DPS that melee or arrows provide.
3. Doesn't have that devastating firepower that advanced magic has. Alchemy's version of advanced magic only deals 80% damage at MAX rank, and just isn't worth it.
4. You have to equip a cylinder to use it. You cannot do good melee damage without switching off.

I'd like to see everyone's opinion on alchemy again once chain cylinder breaks the game .-.

It's as addictive and rewarding at gachapon ^^;
High ranks help with Dorren's request though, and that quest gives looooaads of exp if you can pull it off fast enough.

Because cylinders = arm cannon and water cannon does hax damage when it's rank 1 especially how easily accesable it is for newbies and the ease of ranking.

Lead Bubble"

It's Bubble Lead, not Lead Bubble. D:<
Also yes, my blue Water Cylinder = Mega Buster. It goes PEW PEW PEW. This is why Alchemy wins.
