But there is nothing to worry about. Apparently it's just flavor text. It just happened to me right now, and the max durability for all of my items are still what they were before this happened. So, it's confirmed that repairing can not, in any way, affect the max durability of your equipment =D

No, this is not.
Vindictus just had a major overhaul of the repair system. They removed Deterioration and Condition, and added Durability. (Akin to Mabinogi's system.)
This was just to assure you that repairs cannot touch your newfound Durability.
(So the only ways to lose max durability is failed enchants and enhancements 8+, right?)

Failed enchantments in general, I think it starts to happen when you go to +4.
Enchanted armor/weapons also cost more to remember too, so something to think about

Gosh, I remember the first time his hand slipped with me. I almost threw my computer out the window. >>

So if your durability goes down to zero does your break for good? Sorry Nexon's writing has a way of confusing me.

I know this isn't true. It's either 7+ or 8+...

Why would they change his dialogue?

Well, they changed the button from "Restore" to "Repair," so it's not unreasonable for them to change his dialogue, or just have him not say it at all.

I would like to know this as well.

It is a natural conclusion that if max durability is 0, then the most current durability can be is 0. You cannot equip anything that has 0 durability. I have not enchanted as of yet, but I am sure someone can add some enlightenment.
If fail enchanting lowers the max but does not lower current, then you can possibility use the item till it hits zero and then you can never use it anymore. If it lowers max and current, then you'll be SOL when it hits zero. I can see some sort of rune or pot coming to the store soon that'll 'restore' durability to 100 or something :P

I'd like to think that if it goes to 0, you can still repair it, but it'll cost a sh**ton.

I have heard from someone that when he slips, it's randomly from 0 - 6, have yet to confirm this.
By the way, does anyone know how much durability you increase per enhancement?

How do you know? I was listening on vent last night as a guild member failed several times to obtain +6. Each time they reported the max durability dropping to lower than it had been previously at +0. Of course each enhancement also raised the max durability too, but not to what it might have been without all the failures.
